Default No power (Neo Magic Pulsar).

My daughter was playing my Neo Magic Pulsar (type A) earlier, and tripped over the cord... the wire pulled out of the plug on the back of the machine, sparked, and popped the breaker.

So I reset the breaker, unplugged the machine, pushed the end of the wire back into the end of its plug, and plugged it back into the machine... nothing.

Is there a fuse or breaker in the machine that can be reset? Could I have killed the power supply? Could I have killed the whole machine? I'm not even really sure how to know that I'm getting a good connection on the power supply.

I really need some guidance here guys... I just don't know much about these.

Disassembled the power supply. The glass fuse on the board is intact (which I assume to be a good thing!). I reinserted the wires, confirmed continuity, and epoxied the wires into the plug so that they couldn't pull out again. That's curing now, and in a few minutes, I'll go put the power supply back in and try again.

Hopefully it didn't fry anything .Popping the breaker helped in cutting the power quicker. good luck

power supply is reinstalled. There's no power... the light doesn't come on. I have either overlooked something or toasted the power supply. Anyone know where I could acquire a new power supply? Can this one be repaired?

My 4 year old really loves playing this machine... I've got to get it working ASAP.

wall outlet is tested. I have continuity from the end of the plug that goes into the wall, through the connector on the power supply to the plug that goes into the board.

Iwould start by putting a new fuse in the front of the power supply. Was the power cord to the 24 volt transformer,or into the machines actual power supply, where the reset buttons are and the on off switch is

This machine doesn't have a transformer. The cord goes directly into the power supply. The fuse inside the power supply is intact. I can replace it tomorrow, but I don't think that will gain me any ground.

I would take the power supply apart and check to see if any circuits are burned or cracked, or broken wire where it got pulled out.You may not be making a full connection where you reinserted the cord. check for a bad ground that might be shorted because of the sparks. The fuses don't always look bad,but it should have blown.

I just pulled that fuse again and tested it-- it's fine. There was also another fuse on one of the boards (I think it's the one for the reels), and that checks out to.

I see nothing burned or obviously damaged inside the power supply. I'm no electronics engineer, and I don't know how to do testing beyond this. I'm open to any suggestions though

Regarding the power supply replacement-- the thumbs are of the plug configuration and the model of the power supply. No idea how standardized these are. Any advice?

Did you check the cord terminals on the plug for bent or broken pins into the power supply.

I did indeed. Again, there's continuity from the end of the plug that goes into the wall, through the pigtail in the power supply that plugs into the board. I'm certain the power cord is supplying power to the board.

I called Stealth Amusements this morning, and I need to email them a picture of the power supply to see if they can match it up with parts they have. If I can't get it from them, can any of you recommend another source for parts?

Stealth is about the only one I know that might have that part. Gaku is one but I only see his adds on ebay, It's gaku 2006.Idon't have any idea as to testing the parts without a test lab and schematics.I'm not an electrical guru either. I hope stealth can help you. Some other members may be able to help , It just takes a little time. I'll keep thinking on my end , good luck.

Getting antsy. Hoping that the part shows up in the mail today. It's going to get over 95 today, with high humidity, so I'm looking for an indoor project for the evening...

DAMMIT SO MUCH! The part from Stealth arrived today. It's no good either... it doesn't light up. ARRGGGGHHHH!!!

The *ONLY* think I can think of... there's three wire plug going into the power supply, but only a two wire plug going into the wall. I had assumed that it would be the two outside terminals on the power supply, leaving the center (yellow) empty, as that terminal looked unused. Can anyone with a similar power supply take a look at your lead cord and see which terminals are being used?

Right. That was my assumption as well. The green is grounded to the case. The red is hot, and the yellow appears to be unused.

green should be grounded to the case, black and red are hot, white (sometimes yellow) should be neutral. if you are only using the red and green than it is not making a circuit as the ground is only for shorts and not for a neutral leg
