Replacement bulbs

This should be a simple problem, however I am having a difficult time finding the right bulbs for my first machine. It is a 1994 Daido Pegasus Warp machine. I am looking to replace the wedge typew bulbs that go behind the plexiglass. The bulbs that were in the machine say they are 28V 40MA. I purchased bulbs that three different times online that were supposed to be a match, however when they arrived they say they are 24V 3W. I installed one of these bulbs and it burned so hot I was afraid it would damage the faceplate. Is there a reliable source for the proper bulbs and does anyone know what bulb I should be looking for? I will need about thirty bulbs to replace them all.

That warp machine is pretty friggin sweet looking Cardi... I'd love to see a video of its gameplay!

I will try to upload a video of the gameplay once I finish replacing the bulbs. It is a lot of fun and I am really enjoying it. Although I am sure it is not as exciting as some of the modern machines. It is very old school (just like me). No video screen, or special effects. When I was able to get it to go into the Big Bonus game it did light up nice and played some fun music. I am very happy with it as a first machine. However I already have the bug to acquire a modern machine as well. I have been looking at the Biohazzard machine, although I am not sure if it is one I would grow tired of. I would love to decide on a machine that will keep me entertained for a good long time. I see a lot of posts about the Lucky Spin and Harley machines, however I am not sure where I can go to try out one of these machines.
