    Default Pachislo party ideas

It's fun to drop a few lines of tokens into a Pachislo machine for a few spins in an unstructured environment. I find it a great way to relax after getting home from work, etc and the thrill of getting that big bonus.

My son will be having his birthday party in a few months. Me, the Mrs. and my son are trying to incorporate my Pachislo to be part of the party fun. The group will probably be about 10-15 high school age kids.

It would be easy to leave a container of tokens near the machine for them to play with, and we might do so for part of the time, but we were also looking to do some kind of competition game with it. Maybe something like giving each person 100 tokens and the person with the most remaining tokens after playing gets a "door prize" which would be something small like a big candy bar or similar.

Door prizes used to be popular where each person would get a number and at the end of the party the winning number gets a simple prize... kind of an off shoot of that.

    Any ideas?

100 tokens sounds like a good idea, maybe a special prize if someone hits the bonus rounds,

you could also number the machines and pick a number out of a hat while they were playing for a prize too

    What a great idea!

However with kids in the age group you're talking about, anything less than a Ipod as a gift wouldnt score very well. Gift Card maybe? Not sure what kind of budget you want to put into your party.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I was thinking a parent might wonder if they were "gambling" if an expensive prize was won. Maybe a gift card might be in order.

I currently only have one Pachislo machine, but who knows in a few months it might multiply. I hear they tend to do that.

If I was one of the parents Idon't think Iwould consider it gambling, because no money is involved, just fun.Kids love to play these machines. I think it's a good idea to add it into the party.

On Christmas eve of 2009 we had a Christmas pachi-party for the kids.
Our 6 kids range in age from 15-25. Two brought friends & one invited her boyfriend.
We set up 12 pachislo. In each hopper was 400 silver tokens & 2 or 3 gold tokens.
In 6 random hoppers there was one coin stained red by Sharpie.

The kids got 650 tokens each just for showing up.
The machines were all set to level 3.
If someone got a gold token in a jackpot, they got to pick a present from a table we set up by the Christmas tree.
If they received a red token they were to pick a present & give it to one of the other guest... kinda like a secret santa gimmick.

We had purchased $15 gift cards from various places the kids like to shop or things they liked to do.
Ex: itunes cards, BK cards, Subway cards (eat fresh), Gamestop, Clothing stores, xbox live pts, Claire's boutique cards, etc.
We kept track of what was in each by keeping a numbered list & placing a small number under each bow.
Packages with red or silver bows were girl oriented gifts.
Packages with blue or gold bows were for boys.

Some kids hit a bonus; some hit two, while others lost the farm...
turned out, the high rollers gave the less fortunate their winnings (silver tokens) so they could get another shot at a Bonus.
Everyone made out with at least a trio of pachi-presents.
They had a blast.. the wife & I went broke.
But it was a great Christmas & the kids got to use their gift cards to pick out things they actually wanted instead of having the old fogies pick out everything for them.

Oh, & they had no clue what was in the presents until they opened them.
Our 16yr old son swore they were just empty boxes until he unwrapped them.

Only a member here would think of something like that for Christmas! Great idea!

I did something similar except I picked one unique token I had hidden in a hopper to encourage my sons and their friends to play. I found this can take an exceptionally long time. If I were to do it again, I would make the tokens glaringly obvious (like the red Sharpie idea) and put several in each machine.

I have weekly poker games in my game room and the pachis entertain some of the people that sit out a hand or two, or go broke and sit out the rest of the game. I always have a prize for the big winner as well as for the loser (dollar store items, etc) and I think it might be a great idea to paint up a few quarters for each machine and drop them in the hoppers.

Id say BYOQ (Bring your own quarters) and say each token is worth 25 Cents but its gamling and possibly illegal.
