Default Trying to identify my machine

Greetings all. I am new to pachinko restoration but while I was deployed to Afghanistan I was lucky enough for my mom to drop by and leave me a pachinko machine. Now that I am back I have the fun task of identification and restoration. So far I have determined the expiration sticker to have a date of 1973 and from the markings all over the machine I have found it to be a Nishijin Sophia machine, but what I am looking for now is full identification so I can restore it to its original glory and find the proper manual for it. I have included a picture of the play field to help with identification so if any of you more experienced fans out there could help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.110701-170241.jpg

    first of all

you have a nishijin model B there. It looks to be a thunder bird center feature so that is the theme. Great to see you already figured out the date. If your looking for the manual here is a link to one: http://vintagepachinko.files.wordpre...nko-palace.pdf

If you are interested in restoring your machine check out a few of the stickies
here are two that will help you out

no real model names from this era but I love the center feature on that, looks like a standard model "B"

Here is Mopar's video on this model (good place to start) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEhvJ...el_video_title

Good find. I'm pretty sure it's a 1972 model though.

I got that it is a 1972. I was saying the expiration date was December 1973 because that was the only solid info I had. I was only posting what I knew to be fact as I figured it would be easier to identify given only factual information and not assumed information, but thank you for the input.

Finally got my workshop setup after the baby came and things started today since I have a 4 day weekend. I got the old mounting case off so far and will keep posting as I work and will get pictures as things start to brighten up and look better.

I'm sure you'll end up getting a couple more machines. They're kind of addictive, and you've definitely found the right place to get any help you need. Looking forward to the pics!

Tear down is going slowly but fun. I also ordered some balls and a replacement bumper so that I can test the machine more thoroughly but with the 10 or so balls I have I managed to manually verify all the tulips and the launcher work as well as all the spinners and the center feature. I just hope I can get this thing looks as beautiful as it deserves to be. The only thing I am really concerned about right now is that I may have to redo the play field, which I will use the instructions from the sticky in this forum for, and even if I don't have to do that it looks like I am going to lose a few of the original stickers which in a way makes me sad. So should I keep the originals or lose all the stickers or does anyone know where I can get replicas or how I can get the replicas made? Two or three of the stickers are exposed paper and those are the ones I am pretty sure I am going to end up losing as they are in really bad shape, but two of the stickers are clearly high quality almost hologram stickers and those two I am sure I can manage to transfer, but as this is my first restoration I am not sure what to do with this situation so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I will post some more pictures as I actually get things cleaned up before reassembly as I have my camera out in my workshop to document everything I am doing.

Depending on which stickers your are talking about, I've had good luck running a sticker through a color copier, then putting a piece of clear packaging tape over it, cutting it out, and then putting it through a xylon machine (sticker making machine my wife uses for scrap booking) and putting it back on. If you look at my thread called "couldn't resist", the jockey on the horse sticker in the middle of the main attraction was made that way. If you don't have a xylon machine, I don't think there is any reason you couldn't put it on with some kind of glue.

The stickers I am talking about are clearly paper stickers that were attached during inspection or or the play instructions stickers. The are in not so great shape as some of the paper is already torn, but would I lose value if I just very carefully removed them or should I try to salvage them?

    post some pictures please.

Kinda confused on which stickers you are talking about

Though by the sounds of it it won't really hurt the value but If your going to replace the background I'd save them and put them on the new background.
