Default Whales & Company Four Sided Allwin

Well, I saw this one when the bidding started at .99 cents and I instantly set up an esnipe for it with my very top dollar amount. With the shipping cost factored in, it is now over my budget and means at this point, so I thought I would share with this group in the hope that maybe another member with a bigger toy budget might win it and post info about it.

I have read about Bryan's Four Square machines (an own one), but have never seen a four square type machine from another manufacturer. This one comes with the stand (rare) and all four games look to be in working order, although I can see that one of the back flashes (cell) is cracked.

Anyhow, I thought I would share now that it is financially out of my reach.

There are many more pictures within the auction.

That is a really nice example, I believe I've only ever seen the 'Bryans' Allwin versions of the Four Square design, this one is by Oliver Whales of Redcar then

"Oliver Whales, was a leading slot machine maker and operator, in the 1950s he had arcades all up the north east coast of the UK and mainly worked out of Redcar, he was in business from the 1930s to the 1960s"

Will be a very nice buy for someone

I noticed the bidding was retracted this morning. Maybe I have a chance at it again. I'm sure there will be many snipes at the end of the auction and the final sale amount will be over $800, but why not give it a go?

Wish me luck. It would be a cool piece for my collection.

Yes I hope you get it. If it was a little closer I would pick it up but with the price of gas it is still cheaper to ship it. Not alot to go wrong if it is packaged good. Good Luck.

Wow!!! Someone has as much passion about these machines as you do Jeff. Sorry you didnt get it.

I wish I had a fun budget like that! Renovating a home (as I'm doing) kind of kills the fun budget.
