    Default Hello, There Everyone!

I was at a swap meet today and I picked up a Nishijin B machine!!! WOO HOO! I wasn't looking for one, but always thought it would be cool to have one since I played a pachinko at a friend's house once in the 80s.

I live in Washington about 60 miles south of Seattle in the capitol city, Olympia. I work for the State and like a lot of vintage things like old boomboxes and electronics, too.

I already took advantage of your advice on how to clean a machine and did some basic clean-up today. I also figured out it was a model B from the video posted on the Vintage threads. Thanks for this site. It will be invaluable. Oh, I guess I shoSAM_4568.jpgSAM_4567.jpguld post a pic of it...

I love those side pockets. I surly haven't seen that style of them. Do you have any pictures of the back that you can post? Because that is usually where any problems or missing parts might be.

    Hi, Everyone:

Thanks for the warm welcome! I found out my machine is a B model and is probably a version of "Bells" from 1974. I saw a very similar one in the photo galleries.

    Here are some more pics:

Oh, and with a little cleaning, we got the ball launch working! YAY!

I'm looking at those pockets and thinking that they could have solenoids on them to make them spin. But they could be all mechanical in the same way. Where ball enters the top off balances the half moving it downward. And to reset it you get a ball in the center of the half circle and it will turn it back the other way. If it had solenoids it would get a ball in the center and it would trigger a switch that would spin the pocket. Just my guess.

Also great machine I have never seen one with those pockets on it.

I'm not really sure at this point. I did get one in one of the pockets, but there are a few jams in the back of the machine right now and have some cleaning to do. They are locked closed at this point. I'll let you know when I figure it out, though.
