Default Pachinko machine and balls - $25 (Portland/Lloyd Center area)

Here is a great deal on a Pachinko with balls for $25. Not sure if it's a vintage or not, but as the seller states: "Dont know much about these pinball like things but it entertained my autistic son for months."

    I see a pattern here...

Sounds like a good deal. Not much room to negotiate so that leaves mopar out. Waiting for the pictures.

Okay, so I called at 10 am (on the dot) and talked to the gal, she has no clue what it is or what was broken but said she would pull the ad and set it out on the porch and asked me to just drop the money in the mail slot. I made the 80 minute drive dealing with people that drive worse that drivers in India

It is a mid 70's Sankyo!5.jpg filling in one of the brands I didn't have yet. The plexi has a hole in it and the reward hopper is smashed up something horrible4.jpg but the cell is in great shape and all the other parts are there. I guess I am on the hunt for a hopper if I can't jerry twiddle this one back together.

I like the bugs and dog head and I think the center feature is a pair of monkeys.

I almost forgot, the "$25 worth of balls" are about 500 bearings that are a little lighter I think they are pot metal or aluminum and just a fuzz bigger than real balls so I guess I have ammo for a scatter gun now

    looks like a nice find..

i might know of a hopper for it if your looking for a replacement???

i just got done with a machine that is almost the exact same machine.. the big differance is this one has been heavly modified to put all won and lost balls to the front of the machine... no rear hopper needed..

kinda cool but weird as well...

Ahhh congratulations for a very beautiful machine!

I do not personally have much experiences about this vintage types. But what i do can tell is that the monkey in the center is called Sun wukong, or Son goku in Japanese as this is a Japanese machine . And this monkey is featured in the classic novel "Journey to the west". And actually this cartoonish style of Son goku, or Son O gong as he is called in my home nation Korea was being a very much subject in television shows, manga and such things based on journey to the west (example is the big Dragon ball series), as this is a very popular story in eastern Asia. When i was child, i had a game famicom that featured exactly this monkey as in your machine

The Japanese name of this monkey would be: そん ごくう

Please google pictures of that Japanese name, and yourself will see! Congrats again!!!

I took it all apart and cleaned it (insomnia sucks) the workings were good, like it had been deep cleaned at some point, mostly dust. The front trays were another story, something had peed on it and there was dry piddle between all the parts and it was gross and smelly. In the end it cleaned up great. I did need to repair a few things that were bent or out of place.

Only trouble I am having is it pays out in slow motion, nothing seems to be bound up but the levers take about 5 seconds to go one way and if the triggering ball happens to drop out it takes 5 or 6 seconds to reset. I remember reading posts like that before but don't remember if it was this model or not.

Nice machine! I like the unusual mechanics on the back. It's interesting that the bell is located near the top and is rung by balls that are not paid out with the jackpot.

    Excellent find!!

    Excellent find!!
the bell on the right side is for the standard jackpot.. this bell is rang just befor the balls enter the upper shooter tray.. as the tray fills, the balls back up and flow back to the center.. fall to the lower tray ringing the second bell on the way down... lost balls are diverted around the bells and droped out the bottom like all vintage machine...

fixed the slow mo issue, the one pivot I did not take apart had gummy green stuff on the brass pin. A little polish and it works perfect.
