Default Making a full standing Pachinko pay for play unit

    Hello all,

I'm currently trying to build a full standing and mobile pay for play pachinko machine and I've been spending a lot of time considering a cabinet design. I've found a design that will accommodate battle counter, ball lifter and note/bill acceptor but i am unfamiliar with methods to house 5000+ balls in the unit.

Does anyone have any recommendations for holding a massive amount of balls? How do pachinko parlors in Japan do it?

I'll also post pictures and videos of my build once complete.

Parlours would have a ball system supplying each machine.
The best way is make a tappered hopper with a 2" hole to feed into the top hopper of the machine.
But you need to make a tap or seal so you can open the machine without 4000 balls falling on your head

First give yourself a way to turn the lifter off if you need to open the cabinet.

Second, you don't necessarily need that many balls, if you make the cabinet so that the balls that go into the overflow tray get returned to the lifter. Some type of counter there would give the player the 'wins' total and still have the excitement of all those balls paying out. If the game runs out of balls (which if you have enough in it, the overflow tray should sound a warning), you could have a light telling the player to dump some of the balls. The only reason to have 5000 or more in a game is if the player is 'cashing' them in.

That is the plan. Since it's a pay for play I plan to give players the option to 'cash in' their winnings. I'm really wondering how parlors manage such a large amount of balls.

the supply of balls is in the base of the aisle, lifted to the top as needed.

Also be careful making a gambling machine that takes money (for anything more than just personal use)..especially in California!!

Thanks for the adivse; i'll have to talk to a lawyer before i put one up for commercial use. Do you think it would be a big deal if i just offered prizes (action figures, DVDs, BluRays) instead of money? How do these companies get away with it?

If I was going to charge people. I would take the reward factor out. Pay to play for fun.
Make the machine cyclic. Seal up/ replace the front hopper. Then connect the start pocket output for battle counter to the credit add. So if you get the start pocket you get another go.
You could monitor the jackpot output if you really wanted to give a prize for winning.

Then you would only need a few balls not thousands. And you keep all the cash

Not a bad idea. That way there is no risk of being shut down for gambling practices.
