    Default Pachinko Machine needed

This ad really tugged at my heart strings, so I thought I would post in case any member in the area was able to help out.

    http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/wan/2247968933.html

"Would anybody be able to donate a pachinko machine for my daughter who is deaf and autistic? I am a single dad, and my daughters full time caregiver. We can not fit purchasing one into our budget, thank you... "

    Jeff Jackson, Denver CO

There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

I e-mailed him and this was the reply

Hank, thank you so much for your reply and efforts. We visited a friend
and he had an old machine,he said his dad had given it to him in
1971.My daughter is vision impaired as well as being deaf and
autistic, all the feedback, and vibrations and lights flashing...WOW!
,I have never seen her so engaged and fulfilled with anything
before,to see so much joy on her face.I feel guilty for asking for
something so expensive...but I just can not afford it in our fixed
income.I could make small payments if someone would work with
    us,thanks Dave Porter

I also have his number so if anyone can help pm me for it

I will donate a machine and pay for it's shipping to this person. Owennewton, I take it that this seams legit to you? Is there a member close that would except shipment of the machine and take it to this person. Reason being if there are any issues from shipping and help set it up.
Can someone help with tokens? Otherwise I think I have some of those copper one I don't care for I could send with the machine.

OK, I misread this. It is a pachinko machine they would like. I have a Gladiator pachinko I could donate. Any help with some balls? What's the consensus on this machine suiting the purposes for this girl?

I am close enough to help with receiving and setting up, I think he is looking for a vintage for her as that is what she responded to. This is not the first time I have seen a disabled kid respond to our Japanese toys

If it's vintage that's needed then I have the Marahon Furin Pachinko Game I recently found. It's in working order, just needs a good cleaning.

I can donate the Balls. Is 500 enough for a Vintage? Let me know. If this does take place, Owen, please PM me your address and I will send them off to you.

I have been in contact with both owennnewton and Dave. After re reading the posts I have to get straight what machine I am sending. I think Dave's description of the machine is a modern not a vintage. I described the two different machines to Dave and said the one with the knob. I'm pretty sure it is the Gladiator machine that is best.
As for the offer from new in town for the balls would be great!

Can Owen or someone emaiil a pic/youtube vid of both machines to Dave to see what type he is after. I agree from the origianl description its a bit difficult to see if he would like one like the 1971 machine from his friend or a modern with all the flashing lights and video.
You guys are great over there. We used to do the same thing with vintage mustangs in the UK. Take disabled children out for a ride for charity. Or just display them at charity shows.

Thank you Mopar, you guys rock! Confusion was cleared up this morning as she had played on a vintage but Dave thinks good old Gladiator being a modern and having a little more going on will be better for her so now that is cleared up... I can't wait to deliver and see the reaction
