I think your rod is too long, the jackpot balls push dome the white lever and it hits the rod, lifting the paper clip looking part letting the winning ball out and resetting the jackpot.

I agree it is way too long. That jackpot arm has to be able to come all the way down. I would push the jackpot arm all the way down and then at the same time hold the lever with the rod down and that distance will be your length.
