Vintage Baroom Japanese Pinball Game, 1940s or 1950s

We can probably add this one to the list of overpriced Pachinkos on the market right now, but what caught my eye was the win "pockets" on either side of the center feature. Has anyone seen a machine like this before? How does it work?
