    Default vintage made by maruhon?

I have an chance to buy a vintage pachinko made by maruhon. I don't have any pictures to post, but it pretty much looks simillar to any other vintage pachinko machine I have seen. My question is what is this thing worth? I don't want to pay too much. Are the Maruhons rare or special? I haven't ever seen or heard of one.

I just picked up a Mahuron at Goodwill this morning for 25 bucks. Interesting machine. Ashtray tips out to the side instead of towards the front. It was missing the upper ball tray and the upper ball tray cover. I've made a ball tray cover and a temporary upper ball tray. It needs a good cleaning but it seems to be working except for one strange thing. It pays out usually five balls to the ball dump tray and the rest to the ball feeder tray. Haven't had a chance to see why this is happening. Anybody have any ideas why this is happening? Soooo...condition is important when deciding what to pay.

there is a diverter usually in the ball path, so that usually the balls go to upper tray until that backs up and the diverter sends to lower tray.

it may be that your diverter is stuck, or got put back backwards. this happend to me on a sanyo, where the "L" got put in backwards.

often times, there are 2 bells, too, so it sounds different coming to upper tray vs lower.

to answer the first question, it it's your first machine, it might be worh $50

look at the cell (the face) and see if it's water stained. if yes, deduct at least $20

look at the back and see if all the parts are there. if not, then deduct a bit more.

if you really like the cell, it could be worth it, but maruhon's aren't that hard to find. less common than nishijin's or sanyo's, but not that special (except that all pachi's are special )
