Screen bright but image has disappeared

Im beginning to think the lcd may not be the problem...

I have the machine switched on - when i remove and put the cable back in on the video board, and move it about a bit i get a range of effects on the screen, ranging from multi-coloured vertical lines, to at one point almost having the game image on it for a few seconds. This would indicate to me, who knows very little about such things, that the lcd is able to process whatever information is being sent to it, but something is going wrong at the connection from the video-board to the cable... - reasonable assumption?

I have thought about a digital photo frame lcd but the problem seems to be the connector is unusual - this uses a LVDS connection (whatever the hell that is) so i wouldnt know what screen to buy other than a replacement samsung one, and even then, what if its not the screen after all?

Not sure how your board connector pins look but you may want to reflow the solder on the pins as they might have some cracks.

Thanks for the link to the lcd screen - ive mailed them to see if it can be used as a replacement - need to make sure the connections are the same - and may just get it anyway.

As for reflowing the solder on the board, if i knew how to do it and had the tools that would be an option but unfortunately im a plug-and-play kind of guy!

Ive been digging around for direct replacements for your screen.Best i found was a reconditioned one at $122 USD plus shipping to UK.. so not cheap

I have a Gamera High Vision that I have been swapping parts etc for over 6 hours. I now have a white screen with a no sync message that comes up. Does this mean that the LCD screen is good ? I changed the inverter # INVC651 and got the screen to go all white while before I had nothing. The game worked before without the LCD screen lighting up, but now the game doesn't work with the tokens falling thru. Possible video board issue ? Where is it located ?

What was the "FIX"?

It was a bad video card, which was back-feeding into the power supply, which was stopping the rest of the machine from starting up.
