Default Nishijin A single shot missing part(s)

Moparformance, thanks for the advice earlier... I'm a newbie with a recently acquired Nishijin A single shot. It is missing the plastic chute or housing that routes the balls from the win cups to the mechanism on the back of the machine. Overall, it is a nice machine , but for the missing parts. Here are some photos including the area that is missing parts. Any lighting parts for the main feature are also missing. A photo of the main feature is attached so you can see the style. Any advice on what all I am looking for would be appreciated. If anyone has the items I need, even better.
    Thanks, Steve

That machine is very similar to the one Gilly is currently restoring, and similar to the one I picked up last week. I bet he has some photos of the parts that are missing. If not, I can snap some photos of mine later this week.

i would guess that finding parts to fix yours is going to be hard... unless you part out another machine... but creating parts that would work from scratch should be possible..

    good luck on your project

upload a picture of the whole back. I can't tell if your jackpot area is complete. I wonder if the back plastic got broken and that's why someone pulled it to replace? it is made of polystyrene type, brittle plastic.

the plastic cover should be no problem to recreate and you could use left over mylar packaging to make one.

here is a picture of the back o my 2nd nishijin A, you can see the shape of the plastic thing.

you might PM johnnynormal and see if he still has the back of his nishijin A. it's been a while since I've seen him around here.

Thanks to everyone!!! Mudfud the outline where the chute was looks to be the same shape as yours. I do feel that I could create one, just not sure whether there is any other mechanism behind it. Here's a picture of the rest of the jackpot area. It does appear that the part(s) were carefully removed (no damge to case) as if they were going to repair it. I paid $10 for this machine at an auction last weekend. I had a Pachinko when I was 13 years old and traded it for something else that wasn't nearly as much fun. 40 years later, I find this sitting in a corner at an auction and of course I couldn't resist. Thanks to all for being so helpful.

think of the missing covers ans a funnel.. all you need is something to direct the balls to the jackpot mech..

catching the bottom ones would be easy catching the top and directing it to the bottom is going to require a bit more work..

but im sure ya can make it work for ya...

its kinda hard to see but if ya take a look at my Vid it might help ya out a bit

Yes it looks a lot like my single shot as well. I have a thread that starts "New Guy Here", I have several pics on there of mine. If you need dimensions or info like that, let me know.

To the others here I have just been a bit sidetracked lately but hope to get more tinkering time in later this week maybe. I did get another order of balls earlier in the week and some replacement pins for the cell, so the final few things are falling in place.

Thanks Gilly, appreciate all the help. Billy at VintagePachinko emailed me that he may have one, so I am awaiting photos from him. If that doesn't pan out, then I will fabricate one and I may very well need more info. So good to meet so many helpful people on here.

Steve, or if you wanted to, between my brother and I we could probably make one up, my brother is a sheet metal fabricator and welder. Just to get something that would at least function including a place for the center/feature light. Let me know.

Oh and just noticed, I think there is another plastic chute missing that runs to the bell mechanism.

I also left a phone message for johnnynormal. I haven't heard from him in awhile and if he still has the back off his "A", I'll grab it for you.

Thanks Gilly and Mudfud, I much appreciate the help. I did find a part at Vintage Pachinko, which I have ordered. While I do enjoy some fabricating, in this case being fortunate enough to find one frees up my time to disassemble and clean everything. I did run some balls through the mechanism, bell rings and balls seem to end up where they should. Ah yes, and the joy of polishing the brass nails. Thanks again to everyone and I'll let you know how I progress. Getting to understand how this thing works firsthand is part of the allure for me. Watching the videos posted by some of you is a great help. Steve

Time for an update. I have been pachinkering around with this project too long, time to finish it. I am pleased with the way the cell came out after cleaning, but the colors on the graphics seem faded. The graphic is globe lamps on lamp poles or globes hung from trees? Haven't seen another example of this graphic. No staining to speak of on the cell. Polished nails look good.
    Playfield.jpg Playfield3.jpg

The missing ball chute was obtained from VintagePachinko. It was too short (as he said it would be) so I added an extension to the top.

    Ball chute.jpg
I need to fabricate covers for the ball run that goes from the ball tray to the seesaw. I also need to make an angled cover above the seesaw (behind the veiwing hole). Any advice or suggestions?
    Missing cover.jpg
The machine plays properly and pays out. I'll fix the lighting after all else is done. Thanks for the encouragement and advice.

    Looking really good!!

You might consider looking for and purchasing a like machine off Craigslist to use for parts - I have done that a number of times. It can take a bit of time, but I purchased both Model A and Model B machines with water damaged cells for $15-$35 to use specifically for parts, thus saving lots of cash buying parts on-line. Fabrication is an option as well, however I'm too lazy to do that.

Problem with purchasing a machine for parts.. is you get it home and think... I can fix this... then you have yet another machine! (10 and counting!)
