    Default Vegas Slots vs Paschislo

Here I am sitting in the Las Vegas airport getting ready to go back home. After a week of Las Vegas slots, I'm done.

Interestingly (and a big disappointment) almost all the slots are coinless. Instead of the satisfying sound of coin droppage, the machine spits out a ticket and makes a "coin drop" sound. I really miss the sound of coins dropping in the metal buckets. This experience has really made me appreciate my paschislo machines. I can't wait to get back home and play Gamara.

I have never been to Vegas, but in the AC Casino's I haven't seen the coinless slots...but then again I don't go that often anymore. :-(

If it's coinless, that really takes away from the experience. Part of the fun is dropping the quarters in and seeing them come out (the out part doesn't happen that often for me). If this is the new trend, than I'd rather stay home and play with my Pachi's! :-)

These machines don't like to be left alone for that long. I hope you left a light on for it :-)

I think most casinos, Las Vegas and even here in Minnesota have gone to or are going through the process of the ticket payout. I believe one reason is that people would complain about the time of waiting to get a machine filled if it ran out of coins during payout. I am sure they also figured that a person waiting for a machine to get more coins in to finish getting payed out is not playing another machine and thus less $$ for the casino. I remember a slot called Volcano that during a bonus round any coins you won would automatically payout and the coins would drop in the tray, now it just makes sound and adds them to your credits. It does change the fun, I agree, but casinos are their to make as much money as possible and keep the people playing. Times they are a changing.
    and a few others.

First off let me say I am against the tickets also.
BUT it makes alot of sense to go to them. think about this each machine will pay out the first 1000-2000 credits on a win the rest comes from the attendant.

    1) ok now they don't have to have up to 2000 quarters in each machine, we just cut back on a $100,000 in quarters per 200 machines, most casinos got what over 1000 machines?

    2) you don't have to have as many attendants around to fill the machines when they payout.

Ok with that modification on each machine we have saved how much a week in revenue? Remember it's all about the almighty dollar.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

hmmmm......The only slots I have every got to pay out are my own. And that is because I can sit my own odds. Like you Deanna, I love my Gamera. I love the music it plays when you hit the jackpot. That, and I remember fondly those movies as a child.

I like to ban things in life. I was even going to start a website at one point of all the companies or things I have banned. If casinos are going to do this credit/ticket thing, I will have to add them to my ban list. :-(

BTW, don't ask for my ban list as we don't have the band width for me to give an all-inclusive list.

I'll give you my top 5:

    1. Target (and all affiliations)
    2. 7-11 stores
    3. Cranberry Sauce (don't ask  )
    4. Divorced women whom were once married to military guys (again, don't ask  )
    5. Homeowners Associations

Yeah, a post like that begs for explanation, especially 3 & 4.

The cranberry sauce? But #4, everyone lets leave him alone about that one.. Doesn't sound like something we need or want to know anyway.

Ok, I'll give you the quick version of the Cranberry Sauce story. When I was young (5 or 6 years old), my mom forced me to eat cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving. I hated that stuff, it made me gag. So I swore that once I was an adult that their would be no cranberry sauce at the table. This was all fine and my family abliged. Until one day my smart a$$ sister in law (reminds me of Debra on Everybody loves Raymond), decided Thanksgiving was going to be at her house. I objected knowing here evil ways, and it happened to be my birthday as well. Anyway to make my Mom happy, I said I would go, but under protest, and that she better not push my buttons. So, we start eating, and guess what she had, 3 bowls of that crap at different sections of the table. I asked my brother to control his evil wife and remove the cranberry sauce, they both refused. I got up and said, "We are out of here and have a nice life!". My wife and I walked out and never looked back. That was many moons ago and we no longer speak to my brother or his evil witch of a wife!

Now I know this story makes me look bad, but you don't know my sister-in-laws spitefulness. She purposely did that to spoil my 30th birthday. My wife and I were to fly to Dallas for the Thanksgiving Day game, but we gave our tickets away to attend their dinner. She ruined that special day for me and that is unforgivable!

P.S. #4 is now way related in any fashion to #3.
