Default Looking for Vint Sanyo Bussan to restore

I have been dying to get my hands on one of these. If you happen to have one lying around I would very much like to have a look at it. I would hope for the cell to be unstained but we shall see what comes along.

    Please contact me!

Welcome to PachiTalk, Dylan!! We are thrilled to have you as a member of our forum.

I'm sure you will have no problem locating a Sanyo Bussan machine as you have requested, however I am curious as to why you are looking for that specific brand of machine. Also, is there a particular year or features you are seeking?

Any additional info you can provide would be most helpful.

    Again, welcome to the addiction.

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome. You really do not see that often anymore. I had haunted this forum for some time in my first restoration, a type B Super DX. I figured that this place had helped me and i should return the favor by joining and helping where I can.

As for why I would like a Sanyo Bussan, umm, Well I suppose it goes to a couple reasons. I really like the foul swing feature as i feel it adds a little extra to the gameplay. The vintage ones have a futuristic look that I have always liked on any vintage item. I like the set up of the back mechanics and the vivid artificialness of the back color. I also like that the overall color scheme is very bright and fun. My current machine has the standard grey shooting bin with a dark green return. Nothing wrong with that but a little color never hurt anybody.
Now price is a bit of a factor but not to much. I am currently in college so I cant exactly spend next months tuition on a machine.

Once again thank you for any help with the quest to pick one of these up.

Well they sound like great reasons for wanting one!!

It's a nice friendly Forum here and we like to see new members join us and enjoy restoring and playing Pachis, although it should come with a warning that these guys (and gals) will encourage you to buy lots more of them

I do hope you are successful in your search for a Sanyo Bussan and welcome you to PachiTalk!!

Along the same lines of the Bussan I would be more then willing to take a look at any Comet II that was offered. I think they are both beautiful machines and would love to restore one is someone did not have the time for it.

    Thanks again everyone.

Those machines seem to become more abundant the further west you are. They also pop up on e-bay from time to time, so keep your eyes open!

    Welcome!!!

(And beware... this "hobby" seems to be contagious and the machines... they... multiply. It is probably too late for you already! )

I know where to find a Comet II with a broken top front tray in Denver, but I'm guessing you're looking for something closer and/or more intact. Keep haunting Craigslist and ebay, and try... try to resist the temptation to pick up those cool-but-not-exactly-what-you-were-looking-for machines you'll encounter during your search.

And be sure to show us pictures when your search bears fruit! (Or of any you just can't resist!)

Here's a Vintage Sanyo Comet that just popped up on Craigslist. I would negotiate the price down significantly.

Well I am looking at that comet II and called the guy up. He says that it seems intact in the back save for the missing cover for the see saw (always seems to be missing). I asked for a pic of the back and he said he would have it up tonight.

So mind giving me some insight? Would this be a good buy if I brought him down a bit or should I hold off for something better? From the picture(s) can you see any obvious turn-offs that should be avoided?
I am still a bit new at the buying aspect of these machines. My first and only one is a type B that I saw sitting in the corner of a junkyard warehouse and picked up for $20. Had every part which surprised me later on. But that is all a tale for another topic.

    Thanks,
    Dylan

The seller says that his friend found it in a pile at at a junkyard so that might say a little about some of the water damage. The back looks alright though unless anyone can tell me differently?

Personally, if I liked the machine when I saw it in person and the cell looked to be in good shape, then I would offer $40-45 for it. There are so many pachi deals out there that I don't feel that I need to break my budget for a vintage pachi, unless there is something unusual, unique and cool about it.

The value is always determined by the buyer's level of interest, so your opinion on this machine may differ, but that is just my two cents worth.

Well I found one that I really like on ebay.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Looks good and i put in a good bid, hopefully none of yall will snatch it away.
It needs enough work to make me happy and everything is there to make it an excellent second machine.

    Wish me luck,
    Dylan

Well I got one and I am pretty happy with what I see. It is not the one I linked before but it is incredibly similar.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Now I know a few little peices are missing on the back. I am not seeing the ball purge switch or any of the electrical switches. Just wondering if anyone had a few to spare...

I will have more info when it gets here along with pics and perhaps a video clean up. Thanks for every ones help!

    As always,
    Dylan
