    Default Frozen Nights CE Error

I've got a Frozen Night machine that is just playing music and displaying a CE error. Can someone tell me what that error is, and how to clear it?

    Thank you so much!

if memory serves ce is a token jam in the coin mech . check to see if your tokens are clearing the coin mech also clean the track going through the coin mech sometimes rust and gunk accumulates and slows the token .Are you using new tokens if so some machines have a magnet in the coin mech to stop slugs from being used .if the magnet is removed the tokens will pass easily . By the way welcome to pachitalk i see you've tried others with this so lets see if we are as good as the other boards say ...you do know how to do a soft reset and a hard reset right ? the hard reset is the same as changing the odds same procedure .the soft reset is usually a button on the door or power supply or is also activated by turning the door key the opposite way as you do to open the door . either should clear this error but it might come right back if the sensor is dirty on the coin mech or the connections on the plugs going into the mech arent good .try unplugging the coin mech and plugging it back in and flexing the connection a bit and see if it goes away .good luck.

For major resets, (i.e. RAM crash, power surge/outage, or Big Bonus Game interruption) follow these steps:

    1. Turn machine power switch to the "off" position.
    2. Insert reset switch key into reset key lock.
    3. Turn reset key switch to the "on" position.
    4. Turn machine power switch to the "on" position.
    5. Depress reel spin handle once and release.
    6. Turn rest key switch to the "off" position.
    7. Machine is now reset.
    8. If machine is still not "reset" repeat steps 1 - 6.

Thanks for the tips. I've tried a soft reset and hard reset multiple times. Sadly, it has not gone away. Seems to alternate between a CE and CR errors. I cleaned the optics on the coin mech, reseated the connection, but the errors are still there.

    What else can I try?

The strange thing is that it was working this morning. Then, the error came up, and I have not been able to clear it.

Currently it is displaying a CR error.

what did you do last time back in jan. when you posted on the nlg board ?

well it sounds like a loose connection somewhere between the sensors on the coin mech and the main board . or a defective coin sensor .there are a few members that work on pachislos in new york or i'm near philly thats pretty much it unless you can find it yourself or know a good tech.

Last time, I think I was just able to reset it, once I was told how to.

I left it unplugged for a while today, plugged it back in, did a reset and it took a few coins, but then the CR came back.

Do you know what a CR error means?

CR is a Credit Ram error. This means you were paid out 1 or more too many or too few!!
This usually occurs from a hopper misfed of the tokens. Clean the hopper and lube the plates with something like LockEase. They have to spin freely and quickly. Also check to make sure the tokens are able to slip past the small bearing where they exit the hopper. Drench it with LockEase!
Switch your machine from Credits to direct payout then reset it.
    Good luck!

some machines monitor hopper out put all the time to prevent cheating and pay outs when there shouldn't be. other machines only monitor during payouts .check the sensor on the hopper as well if its dirty it may see that as a pay out when there shouldn't be one . some of the older hoppers have the switch or sensor on the bottom of the hopper .Its activated by linkage thats moved when a token passes through .over time it can get gummed up and not return as easily all it needs is a little lubrication and the linkage will snap back as good as new .others have the sensor in the token path and the optical sensor sees light till a token passes if some dirt or a large dust bunny blocks the sensor the machine views it as a token .it just needs to be cleaned .
