Default How to get RID of pachislo machines?

I know that might sound crazy, but I can see I am going to have a hard time disposing of these machines; the fun factor is quickly wearing out for the rest of the family (and to be honest, for me too). I live in VA, and I really don't want the hassle of boxing the damn things up and shipping them to someone, only to have them demand their money back because it got damaged from UPS. They just aren't worth the hassle. I can see in a few weeks/months we will be thinking (what on earth made us decide to get those!!). I am still having some fun, and play them every night, but it is the same dull routine.

So, what do you guys do with them when you no longer want them? Give them to a daycare center? Retirement home perhaps?

    retirement home would be nice

or goodwill will give taxable donation slip.

or sell them to a member here living nearby for a decent price with them picking them up.

Easiest thing is to have a party. When you're friends say they like the machines, offer to sell 'em to them.

Second best is establish a value for the machines using the high prices on vendors websites. Then give them to a nonprofit (your retirement home idea, etc.). Then take a large tax deduction.

Third best, offer to give them to anyone here that's willing to pay the shipping and promises not to complain if they arrive with any damage. You'll find plenty of takers.

Thanks for all the great ideas. It seems like some members buy a few machines a month. I am sure they have they must have the same problems as well.

Our church has a fund raiser each year and with that is an auction. All proceeds go to the needy members of the community, so that is another option.

    Thanks!

I got the same way with them myself, about 4 or 5 months ago I sold all of mine off except for my Spin Luck and my Dragon Dice. I probably should have kept the Race Queen too, but oh well. I dont get tired of those two, at all. All the others were disposable, I just didnt even like looking at them anymore. Shipping them is very easy. Go toa nearby UPS store and buy a big double walled box, then buy a large bag of foam peanuts. Use saran wrap to wrap the mahcine before putting it in the box, then unload the peanuts to the top. It wont come damaged, I guarantee it. Peanuts work great as long as the machine is wrapped up first, so they dont get inside!

Advertize in your paper, and have a garage sale of skill slot machines.
When they come looking, give them tokens to play and don't take any checks Cash & Carry.

The Wife said I got to thin down my collection, so I am willing to part with a few of my better machines, Stop by and play them to see if this is what you need in your rec-room. Be early, when the few I am plarting with are gone that is it. A touch of Vagas in your own home!

Open 9:00 am to 4:00pm NO Early BIRDS.

Fabulous way to 'rotate' your herd! Buy 'em, play 'em til the charm wears off for ya....and then let someone else enjoy them!

If we just want to keep things fresh, we could set up a Pachi-Ring where several people, within driving distance of some central location, meet once a month or so to "rotate our inventory." As several have stated, you probably wouldn't see the premiums rotate, but I've got a few that I'd offer up for slot swapping. Since I've never seen a pachislo that I didn't enjoy for at least a few weeks, I'd feel comfortable getting just about anything. :-)

Hmmmmm. Did I just describe a Slot-Swingers party
