Default OK, what do i have here?

First off, about a year ago i got my first pachinko thats modern the super sea side story. As i write this my second modern is on order (hopefully it will be here next week). So im kinda familiar with pachinkos. The game and the culture seems to have grown on me. About a month ago i joined my parents at an old farm auction that had all of old cool signs, coke machines, pinball machines etc. I scored this for 15 bucks, i dont think anybody knew what it was. Its missing the front glass.

I was wondering if you could tell me somthing about it? What it would take to make it playable? or is it worth even messin with? AND how do you play it compared to a new machine?

well it looks like a nice vintage..

can't quite make out a name but thats not really important..

to make it would i would ask for another pic of the back lower section.. a pic that is straight on forward.. my guess is something is missing but its hard to exactly tell from that angle...

have you tryed puting a few hundred balls in it and giving it a flick??

im more of a vintage guy so having a vintage is the only way to go.. i enjoy my vintage machines way more then my few morderns..

as far as game play there really the same.. plays a bit slower since ya ahve to flick the balls from the shooter and no where nearly as loud..

    Good luck on your project

Uhh... i tried one ball in the shooter. Flicked it and it shot out nearly nailing me in the head with out the glass being there LOL. This weekend im going to get some plexiglass and cut it down to size to stick in it for now.

Does it need power in order to work??

Nice vintage! Vintage machines do not need power to work, and unfortunately I notice a few critical parts are missing from yours.

In your second photo there is a metal rod with a weight missing from the right side of the white plastic piece. It would be easy enough to create a mod to replace it, however on your third pic it looks like the winning ball departure assembly is completely missing. This is the channel that the winning ball travels through (after leaving the jackpot see saw) to move the lever the releases the jackpot balls from the jackpot payout mechanism. I do not think you can make a mod for that. Your best bet would be to find another machine with the same mechanics on the back and use the part, or see if another member has an identical parts machine and could sell you the part.

I would wait on purchasing any glass or plexi until you can find the needed parts.

    Good luck!

It's a Sankyo, about all I can tell you, other than there's a couple covers missing - one important one is the one that covers the payout mechanism feed tracks.

Good observation Jeff. Thats a major part missing. Why would someone remove that except to repair another machine??? The mysteries never end.

Would you take a picture of the back with the large green cover removed.

I know the piece which looks like is missing but shouldn't the metal bar be visible?. Might just be my eyes

this is what the area should look like .if you are handy ,you might be able to make replacement parts .maybe make a new ball track out of sheet metal or plexiglas .i can give you more closeup pictures if you decide to do that .HPIM0233.jpg

THANKS PINBALL WIZ! I had a feeling that general area was missing parts. Shouldnt be to hard for me to fabricate replacement parts. Only problem im not going to get time until this winter. Ill hit you guys up again to get more detailed pics.

Can anyone pinpoint a time frame this machine was manufactured?

Based on machines similar to yours that I have restored, I would guess that your machine was built somewhere beteen 1975 and 1978.
