Default Dragon/Videogame Themed Older Modern Nishijin

    Hi all!

Can anyone help me ID this machine? I pulled the trigger on an ebay auction after seeing a couple of short movies of the machine running in attract mode and talking to the seller, who sounds like she will be conscientious about packing/shipping. I don't even know if it works, but I liked the theme too much to pass up. What you people have on here... it is catching.

Not in possession yet, so ebay pics are all I've got to show.

I'm curious, what's the difference between a P version and an SP version?

So does the P vs SP have to do with the odds changing? I see a different graphic on the SP version, but I also I seem to read something on the SP translation about a 'heaven mode' with different odds? (Google translation is a bit confusing...)

Could be like modern pachinkos, if you get a bonus with certain characters, your chance of another bonus is increased.

    Yes.

The SP has 2 modes - a 天国 or Tengoku (Paradise/Heaven) mode of odds of just 1/15, and a 通常 or Tsuujou(Normal/common) mode of probability around 1/238. Then the ongoing chance of ren-chans or 突入率 or Totsunyuu Ritsu (Rushing/Breaking in percentage) in Tengoku mode, is 3/11 (or 27% chance).

The P-2 is said to have waves of 3 jackpots in 2 rounds, then 7 in 3 rounds (possibles). No odds given beyond the basic 1/238 for that.
There is always another machine around the corner...

This was one of the 1st Pachinko Machines that i purchased when i started my collecting back up in 2002 . The center screen is a Matrix of multicolored LEDS and the Knight and the Dragon on either side do fight( Kind of rock back and forth ) it's a real nice machine to have and sad to say that my budget can't afford it right now

    A much belated update...

Miracle Force arrived unharmed. Took nearly half an hour to get it unpacked. It would light up and shoot, but had an awful grinding noise coming from the back and would not pay out. Took me about two hours of troubleshooting to get it up and going.

It is heavily based on the vintage Nishijin C mechanisms, with most, but not all of the gravity powered mechanisms replaced by motors and solenoids. The payout motor (pictured) and the position sensor had been removed and not put back together right. There's a gear with an eccentric track molded in opposite the motor that has to be meshed right with both another gear and a shaft that fits into the track, plus the position sensor (seen above the motor) had to be properly oriented and pushed back in. It's a tight fit, seems designed to hold with friction alone.

Once that was done, everything operated. Touch sensitivity was cranked all the way up so that nothing had to be touching the shooter knob for it to shoot, and the shooter was too weak to throw the ball all the way to the bumper. I found the touch adjustment pot by tracing the wires from the shooter. Adjustment was easy, because this one uses a relay... there's an audible 'click' from the back when it senses touch. The shooter tension was the squarish black knob. Two clicks tighter and it was perfect.

Then it was just clean, polish, and play!

I love the theme of this one, and the play is a blast. In addition to the three 'Start' pockets, there are two 'Go' hoops that spin the big LED near the bottom. Odd numbers open the center 'Start' tulip for a moment. I've caught the attract sequence, lots of number spins and reel spins, and one reach sequence on video, linked below.

I've seen two jackpot sequences. Little pixellated sword guy chases big pixellated dragon back and forth across the screen while the plastic characters animate and shoot 'fireballs' (the little red lights in the channels between the center screen and the plastic guys). The 'OPEN' door opens and there's a princess target inside that closes after one ball goes in, while the 'open' door stays open.

The jackpots had two different 'endings'. One has the little sword guy stab the dragon, which dies. The other has the little sword guy reunited with the princess. (I saw the dragon one first, so I thought the little booger was gonna stab her!) For both, the display then went "HAPPY END BY NISHIJIN"

I must say this is one of my favorites. I collect eastern dragons and love old videogames, so this just hit all the right notes.

Interesting addendum... The seller is an author, and had never tried to play the machine. She, had bought it to provide ambiance for writing one of her children's books. Long story short, I've now also got signed copies of her trilogy of books with notes talking about the pachinko machine. This book: Amazon.com: Circle of Friends (9780967237534): Jeanette Adams, Lisa D'Angelo; Bert Adams: Books
was written to the ambiance of my Miracle Force machine!

    Here's a video: YouTube - Miracle Force 1
I haven't managed to capture a jackpot sequence yet. (This machine is tight! Need to tweak the pins to try to get more than one reach per 500 shots.)

So last night I got a 777 jackpot! (sorry, didn't have the camera nearby or I'd have made a vid.)

I'm wondering if I might have seen part of the 'waves of jackpots' that candyflip was talking about...

At the end, instead of the "HAPPY END" stuff, there were some characters I didn't recognize and something about "Chance"

After that, play resumed with horizontal lines of red pixels above and below the reels. It seemed that spins finished faster and the Start tulip was open more... I had no problem keeping all four spin lights lit. Alas, I had to get sleep so didn't continue and see what happened if I got another jackpot.

Was that another 'wave' of jackpot? I don't know very much about the play or mechanics of moderns.

after going thru a fever a lot of machines have a timed or 100 spin chance round.

the play is much faster and the butterfly opens more, your odds of hitting another fever during this round is excellent
