Default Transformer L-MAN Powerflash wiring qstn

I just recvd my transformer that Emmadog recommended (thanks again).

I am just wondering why there are no obvious existing clipped wires that originally connected the pachinko/solenoids to a transformer. The Jbox is stapled to the back and doesnt appear to ever have been tampered with (i.e. removed to cut wires before coming into the states)

In looking at what Emmadog has done - he removed the Jbox and then soldered wires to the board within. The obvious qstn is where was it hooked to originally? I shouldnt think that Id have to solder the board...I should see an obvious disconnect point. ( Nobody would want to see the solder joints I am incapable of with the amount of finger shaking I do...)

    Help please! Bc3

so...without pulling the staples holding the J box - I should be able to peek in the side of the box and see something like your gray wires that were cut short and tucked in. I wanted to not have to remove old staples from hardened wood and brittle plastic. but I have to i guess.

Btw..1)what are the three female lugs hooked up to,2) the color code for each finger screws and 3)what are the fuses for (amperage). mine is missing the bottom fuse completely.

    thank you! bc3

pulling the staples is really the only way unless the wires are hanging out

in this pic... the white and yellow are where the 10 volts power is applyed for lights.. (same as any vintage Pachinko) if your usig the same transformer i recomend (from Raido shack) it has a spliter that you can power the lighs as well..

the thumb screw missing in my pic.. is to send power back to the parlor to let them know machine is low on balls.. not usualy used in home play

I ended up buying a 24 volt DC powersupply, connected it instead at same place of the transformer, reconnected the 10v to the 24 vdc, and used 24vdc light bulbs instead of 10v.

    so everything is on 24vdc.

Could be an idea for someone..

    yup, got mine on Ebay

AC 100V-240V Converter Adapter DC 24V 1000mA Power US on eBay.ca (item 260622063364 end time 18-Jul-10 15:50:59 EDT)

$6.50 and free shipping, not bad.

    search for:

    24v adapter

something around 1Amp (1000mA) is way good enough, I made test with adapter with less amp (around 800mA) and it was enough.

I bought the light bulbs at an electronic store here, about $1.00 each. same screw type socket as original, only two light bulbs to replace.
