    Default Spencer's Gifts

I went to a Spencer's store in the Milwaukee area yesterday with a friend of mine, I was looking for a sign to put by my pachislos. While we were browsing the OTHER merchandise (ya can't just shop for ONE thing there, always gotta check everything else out!!), in walked a gentleman looking for the "welcome to sin city" sign. I thought he MIGHT be one of the many members of the talk forum, as he was SO focused on checking out the working product, to the point I don't think he noticed anything else around him. Anyone going to admit it was them?

Why didn't you just approach him and ask? :-)

It might have been my son. My Race Queen Pachislo is on it's way to him for his birthday and he is decorating his gameroom.

What did this person look like?

I'm shy. This guy was 6' something, short clipped gray hair, I'd say late 40's, maybe early 50's....'course, I could be WAYYY off on the age thing, but I suck at the whole age guess things. Anyhow, I dunno if he bought the sign or not, but I bought the "Saints & Sinners LOUNGE Check your soul at the door..." sign, and a couple machine toppers from the Disney store.

You know, I'm wondering if any of you feel the way I do about this...

Yes, Spencer's has some cool stuff. But, the employees are some of the worst I've ever seen. I'd ask them if they have something in stock (it happened to be add-on liquid projector disks) and they reply is always..."No".

I simply then ask, "Do you know when you will be getting any?" and they reply, "No, we don't really have any control over what gets ordered and what doesn't."

Gee, thanks for checking into that for me. I wouldn't (after all) want you to be distracted from playing with your eyebrow and tounge piercings, much less interupt you from discussing how drunk you're going to get over the weekend with all of your friends. I'm just a 'paying customer' looking to give someone money for a service.

And then, places like this wonder why everyone would rather buy online as opposed to face to face. I really hate people sometimes. :-x

    EVh,
the sad thing is that its getting like that at a lot of places when im out at places during the day most employees act like theyre being bothered when you ask a simple question that helps pay their salaries.

    Evh-

I agree...Good help is hard to come by anymore! But in their defense (as in most retail chains), they have no idea what's coming in and when it's coming in...It's mostly automatic shipment...Just the way it is! But, your right, they can at least be curteous and helpful with what they have there. :-)

I have to agree about the employees of Spencer's....they leave something to be desired, even moreso than most other places I've shopped. However, the lady at the one by me DOES have this really thick mustache that I'm sure she takes great pride in..... They've got some neat stuff in stock, but I think it's a job that people take just cuz of the "cool chit" they can get their hands on, not because they want to work retail.

    Default metal detector

    hey tank,
if you're going to be down there during the womens volleyball, you won't be needing that metal detector. but you might need a wood detector.

I would've bought one, but I decided against a sign that needs to stand on something. That's why I got the "Saints & Sinners LOUNGE" sign...it's hung on the wall over the machines, and I'm still free to find little machine-toppers to go with each theme....Finding Nemo picture holder over marine carnival, an aristocats figurine over lucky cats...might put Taz in full spin mode over kiwame, but am not sure what cartoon-ey figure to add over hh or yeti as of yet. :smt017
