I read your review...sounds like a keeper. How's the volume on it? In your opinion, if set on the lowest setting, is it tolerable or do you suggest an l-pad or some other mod?

I started out on the lowest volume setting. I thought it might just work. It was just a little too loud. But after a week I couldn't take it any more and installed L-pads.

I haven't found anything that looks like a volume control or three position switch. But there's so much electronics in side that I could easily be missing it. It is loud, though. I am ordering L-pads for both my machines shortly.

There are circuit boards mounted on the left side wall of the case - to the left of the reels. There's an area right in the middle of these boards where most of the wires come in from the other parts of the machine. Right in that area you will find a very small 3 position slide switch.

    Default volume switch

Found the switch this morning. It was tiny. It was already in the lowest position, which is way too loud in the family room. L-pads on order.
