Default Where was the first Pachinko you played.

The first Pachinko I played was in the Ft. Worth musem. My elementary school went there on a field trip and they had an inter-active exhibit of pachinko machines. There was a smaller room with machines lining the walls. I think they cost about a nickle or dime, you got a couple of balls and got to shoot them.

I saw a lord of the rings at my local flea market in a wooden case for $225.00, but never played it.

so I jumped in without knowing if I would really like one, by bidding on one on ebay that was a local pickup

it was Nurse Betty or Hospital by Y and O, i won it for around $120.00 and went to pick it up. I had a few minor issues and had help from the seller and on packitalk.

My first fever won me over for good

I now own 11 of them

I was in 6th grade, my friends' father had a pachinko with the built in ball lifter. The room was kept locked but we could always jimmy the door.

I don't remember my first play but I grew up with a mid 70's Kyoraku. I never got deep into the obsession til I spotted the first Evangelion modern on ebay when looking for Eva collectibles. now I have 13 modern, 1 80's electro mechanical and 8 vintage including the first one and it's sibling from the same shipment that I got a hold of when I was 18

The first one I played was a Star Wars machine that Mr. Arby hooked me up with for an incredibly fabulous price! The second was my Julie and they are my only experiences with Pachinko machines.

    Back in the late 60's

My uncle was in the navy, aboard the USS Coral Sea aircraft carrier.

When he was in japan, he picked up a pachinko, and brought it back stateside.

He had it mounted on the wall in their basement.

I was mesmorized by the lights, sound, and action (little did I know that it was addicting )

Around 1971 in Hawaii at our neighbors/parents friends house. They had 3 of them. I was 8 years old and thought they were amazing. I remember them telling me it was illegal for little kids like us to play with them but we could play with them "just this once". I never forgot about them since then.

I didn't get to play a Pachinko til July 2006!!

That is when a Star Wars arrived in my home and I remember it wouldn't play straight away, there was a cable / connector not attached (never seen or heard of pachinko before I bought it)

and I was soooooo impatient to play it that i posted here immediately to get some assistance

As soon as it was sorted and fired up, I became one with the Dark Side!! There was no turning back and nothing has ever had the same effect on me as that first Pachinko play

I never played one until I bought one in '05...Had it delivered to my store and couldn't wait so had to open it there..I had to set it up on a low shelf behind some display cases because there was a plug there, so I sat on the floor behind the cases and got like a 15 round bonus right away!! There were still balls to be found at the store 4 years later!!

1978 I flew from Sad Diego to Japan Via Alaska to catch up with my F-14 Squadron VF 24 on Board the USS Constellation which was already on a 6 month deployment. Waited 3 weeks in Japan for the Ship to pull into Yokosuka.

Got to play many different Now Vintage Machines.

And having to live off base in a refurbished 3 story Japanese warehouse I had to live on.

My best friend moved about 20 miles away when I was 13 or 14. I went to visit him in his new home. The house had several crawlspaces and hidden rooms in the attic. In one we found an old 60's or 70's pachinko, complete with balls. We played with it for hours. I have no idea what happened to it.

Christmas of 1974 or 1975 when my father bought one for my brother and me for Christmas. I still have that machine today (see my photo album).
