Default Help with the laws and regulation with pachislo in Louisiana

I would like to sell pachislo at local shows in Louisiana in the next 2 months. I have contacted the Louisiana State Police Gaming Division and the LA Board of Gaming about pachislo. They have no clue about pachislos. Both department told me that it's not legal to own or sell Japanese slot machine. I did mentioned that these are tokens only and for personal and amusement only and not to be commercialized like the casinos. I told them that it can not be converted to accept currency.
I also contacted two law firms in LA. They also have no clue about pachislo. The law firms said that "it's an uphill battle with the regulation". They also said that I have a very slim chance to get it approved and amend the current regulation.

What's funny is that I personally saw a JcPenny in Louisiana sold pachislos during the Christmas season.

If these local retailers sold them, they must have conducted due diligence prior to the sale.

So does that mean that these skill stop machines are legal in LA? Or a gray area oversight by the gaming board and LSPD gaming division?

I read the Louisiana "gaming device" regulation. The laws are complex and ambiguous.

If any of you reside in Louisiana or Georgia and have knowledge of the pachislo regulation. Of course, I know that not everyone is a lawyer on this forum. Any help will be very much appreciated.

    Thanks for all your resources.

    Arby-

The link you gave above may need to be updated. I believe since it was originaly posted...NJ has banned Pachislo's. Just an FYI to the mods. :-)

    Arby,

I appreciate your reply. I have already seen that link a least a few times.

The information I got from searching online has conflicting information.

For example these two sites say it's ok but other sites says 25 years or older for slot machine.

Check with your local J.C. Penney and see if they still have, or can get, a pachilso for you. Buy it. Then turn them in. Let them pay for their lawyers to get an answer for you.
