Ok, here's what I found out. These are dollar machines. One has the bill acceptor and one doesn't. Both machines 'light up' but do not work. The gentleman acquired this in a lot purchase with several IGT models. He got the IGT's working but didn't mess with these two. He stated that they appear to be complete except that the coin bin is missing from both machines. He wants $150 total for them and is in no hurry to sale... so I doubt if haggling will be too much of an option.
I'm gonna keep these in mind in case I can plan a trip to or through Dallas in the next few weeks. If anyone is in the Dallas area... these might be worth looking at.

if your in good with your local bank Ike dollers are easy to get.. if your not in good with your bank good luck geting some
My daughter in law works at a bank and was able to get me some for mine... my own bank would not even consider it...

you can get them at coin shops or ebay for a premium
you can also find lots of large dollar tokens on ebay

I don't think these are for me... I really want to stay with quarter machines as the rest of my 'Mancave' stuff is all 25 cents.
But... if I happen to be driving by.. and he still has them... anything is possible.

with my limited knowledge of modern slots i dont think a conversion from doller to quarter would be to hard...Originally Posted by wrkey
He says the bin is missing?? im assuming he means hopper.. that sux if your interested in keeping it a doller machine but for conversion that has to be swaped out for a quarter size mech anyways.. and the newer machines have a coin comparitor.. all u do in insert the size coin u want and it will validate and only acccept that coin..
so all u would need is a hopper for quarters and labels to remove the doller labels and change it to quarters...
of course all this really means nothing without actualy seeing the machines
