Work on the room is progressing this weekend.

Electrical outlets, switches, and light fixtures are going in, and the large bookshelfs will be mounted.

And maybe I'll start drawing up the mural for the wall.

Well, here's my weekend update on the gameroom

Electrical is finished with all new outlets and light switches, as well as new light fixtures.

I also put up the bookshelfs and finished painting the trim around the window.

I wasn't able to start on the wall mural due to the storm we are expecting this week. (had to cut firewood, clean the chimneys, start the snow blower etc, etc)

We are expecting snow for the next 5 days with totals in the 6' foot plus range.

Update: Rain, Snow, Rain, Freezing Rain, High Wind, More Snow...

Well, I couldn't go to work because of the weather

We have been without power for 30 hours due to high winds having sheared off 5 power poles at the end of my street.

I went to borrow a generator after 29 hours without power.

15 minutes after I got it fired up, the power came back on

My wife was dog sitting for her friend (Who's a dog breeder) So when the power went out (their house has electrical heat) She had to bring the dogs over to our house.

So, long story short, We had 15 dogs at our house with no power and two wood burning stoves going 24/7.

Fortunatly, we had stocked up on bottled water and food that could be prepared easily.

So, on to the gameroom.

I wish I had picked up the flooring so that finish could have been applied during the down time.

Well, I did get started sketching the wall art.

I can see that my vision of art, is going to take a looooong time to complete

Also, found some cool doors to use for the front of the cabinets that will be built. (had them in storage for years)

They were some sort of a room divider that was in a model home years ago.

And they almost match the bookshelves 5

I'm not exactly why you think it's important to have electricity or heat to work on the gameroom. Sanders come in non-electric models (you know, a block of wood wrapped in sandpaper) as do nailers (hammer). Working those alone should generate enough warmth for you not to require the wood stove.

I did get the curtains hung though

There will be a cover built to hide the curtain rod.
I'm thinking 6" wide pine with oak leaves and bear paws stenciled on.

I also got some more layout done on the mural too

Picked up the new flooring today

I found some cheap unfinished solid red oak for $1.49 a sq ft. at lumber liquidator

Lumber Liquidators: 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak

Hopefully, I'll get it home and stained over the weekend.
