    To all my Pachi friends:
You may all think that I am crazy, nuts, paranoid or just Jersey Fresh, but the bed bug problem is a major national issue in hotels, on cruise ships and in any public accommodation. They are spread by people who may or may not be aware that they are carrying them. Your suitcase will pick them up when you set it down on the floor in an infested hotel room. Did you ever wonder why there are so many new looking mattresses on the curb for pickup ? A mattress cannot be cleaned or disinfected. The only way to get rid of them on your clothing is to wash with very hot soapy water. The last cruise we were on in October had a whole row of cabins that were sealed shut with all furniture and bedding in plastic bags in the hall to be discarded upon arrival in port. When our locker room at work had an infestation, we had all employees leave their coats and backpacks outside. All I am trying to do here is make our members aware of a potential and on going problem. Call me crazy or call me nuts, but call an exterminator if and when you get them because you can't get rid of them by going to Home Depot for a spray. End of Epistle.

You are so right. It could be worse than Global warming. Our temperature outside now is 24 degrees with snow coming again tonight. This should kill the bed bugs too. Please don't take me too seriously or think that I am a zealot. I am just making my friends aware of a problem.

A quick question: What is more fun to play: Pachislo, Pachinko, Pinball or Vegas style slots ?

My grandchildren seem to enjoy the crane games followed by Pachinko. They never play the Vegas style slots. Pinball may be too difficultr for them since they are all still very young. Have fun and be happy.

Unhappy Re: Sea Story Pachinko $75 Brick, NJ

Again, BED BUGS must be avoided at all costs!
    Frank is 100% correct.
I inspect every inch of every hotel room that I stay in for bed bugs.
When I go to a sellers home to purchase a machine, I transport it back to my home in a garbage bag (don't want my car infested) and then inspect it thoroughly. I immediately treat any suspect machines.
I have over 10 years of service as a facilities manager in an Ivy League university. I can attest to the unbelieveable toughness of eliminating a bed bug infestation. They hide in the walls, behind switchplates and outlet covers, in computers and electronics.
We have a "scorched earth" policy. All furnishings in the apartment/dorm room are removed and destroyed. Everything else in the apartment/room is removed and fumigated for 14 days. The apartment/room itself is left vacant for the next 6 months and is exterminated heavily and regularly.
All apartments/room above, below, to the right and left get exterminator service every 14-21 days for the next 4 months.
Bed bugs hunt you in the night and feed on your blood. You never even feel them. They are little nasty, disgusting, vampire beetles that suck your blood.
I have seen students with hundreds of bites. I have also seen townsfolk who rent to college students get run out of thier own homes because of the bugs.
    Be VERY afraid!

Thank you Dr Dark. I am a Facilities Director at a high end private golf club and we actually had to let some employees go and others we had to ask to move out of our rentals. As you said, everything gets tossed out and they are tough to get rid off for months. Everyone here thought that I was nuts !!
