Default Pinball Machine" Antique or Reproduction?

What is your opinion of this "Antique/Vintage" pinball? Is it a true antique or a modern reproduction?

ANTIQUE / VINTAGE STYLE PINBALL WITH LEGS, WORKS, VIDEO - eBay (item 200415239692 end time Dec-20-09 19:00:33 PST)

I am thinking of bidding, but would value the opinions of those smarter than I in the Pinball arena.

while i haven't seen that exact model before,i would think it would be an original built for commercial use ,because there is a coin chute on it.there were many manufacturers building those machines back in the day, even some backyard garage operations.some of those games could have been made by a company that was only around for a short time, and made very few machines.i guess for the 50 bucks it is at right now,i would bid on it.

Its exactly ...well almost the same as the one I grabbed.
The entire coin mech. works in exactly the same way in mine: ancestor to pachinko?
If you dont bid on it I will.

Thanks for the info and link to your thread! After comparing pics from the ebay auction and the agate machine you bought, I am convinced that the one in the auction is a modern replica. The wood inside and out looks too new.

I am going to bid on it anyway, as I think it would be cool in my game room.

    Thanks for the help!

    I think it's a Bally.

This is the smart ball game. An ancestor of pachinko I think. But still very used in Japan.

Its real but you can see that it has been refinished rather recently. Look at the front shot. You can see the uneven toning on the finish. The original finishes were even and have darkened considerably over the years. A sloppy minwax job. But at the current price, nice, if you redid the finish properly.

After a few days to reconsider this item, I have decided to withdraw my bidding and wait until something more "authentic" comes along. If anyone is interested in bidding on it, please go ahead and do so. The auction ends on Sunday evening PST.

    Good luck!

It is a pre war machine I can't place the name I think whoever restored it didn't finish the job or didn't restore the original artwork. I recognize a few key features that alot of pre-war machines have ball lifter, nickel operation, ball trap, gameplay & scoring, and pins. I see the reserve is not met I'm sure its around the $300 mark. I will check with the pre-war pin group I belong to, to see if anyone knows about this machine.
