My guess would be mid-late 50's based on a similar machine I own. The plastic pieces on the back weren't used in the early 50's from what I can tell.

Sharmoni would probably be able to give you a more precise time frame based on his wonderful collection of early Pachinko machines.

Thanks for posting the pictures!! You have a very nice machine there and I am jealous.

this one is much less complex than my other manual machine. no electrics at all. about 1/2 the moving parts. also the front opens forward and down not to the side like my others.

It's later than 1951 when the Masamura gauge was developed. By the early 50s Masamura was using 8 holes (I assume that means pockets and doesn't include extra holes to the center), so this may be from before 1955. In 1953 there were 600 pachinko makers in Nagoya, so that would be a good bet for an off-brand like Shinei. Tulips were invented in the late 50s, so it's before then.

does the suncell sticker in the upper left have a date? my single shot ginza said 1964, and I am pretty sure that was the date for my machine.

    nice find!

I would guess early 50's too.

hey jeff. I thought plastics were used later, too, but my recent matoya's were imported in the 40's, so maybe a few manufacturers used them earlier? searched out plastic invention date, and that was 1855, so who knows? I had thought maybe plastics were post war?
