I can translate symbols, unless it's the artist formerly known as prince... but I don't know how to translate verbal language in to kanji... tis a shame... I'd do anything to help a starwars person... (you have no idea...)

ok I'm going to have to take an educated starwars guess here... the one with C3PO Random Chars, but i think it just signifies C3P0 hence the P0 at the end. jar jar thats just nonsense, at the top would be his name i bet look at the repetition 3 chars . 3 chars . 4 different chars. since he is an alien i would say that signifies him saying something dumb (like usual) probably audible in Japanese but they just threw in like wingdings for fun... and the last one i cant see but it appears as though it might actually say something ô¿ô

I believe you dwOr, I don't know if your right, but I believe you ...(better guess then I thought of )

Their are other chance screens where different characters talk based on when you hit the chance button...I guess a little mystery is ok

I almost forgot, welcome to Pachitalk!

The only Japanese I can see in the first picture is in the top right and says korusanto in Katakana characters which signifies a foreign word spelled out phonetically, so could mean crescent or some similar sounding word.

The second picture says Jar Jar Binks in the top of the box ('Jya Jya Binkusu' in Katakana characters), and below it he is saying something along the lines of 'What! Where did it go?' (but written out in hiragana characters rather than kanji).

Can't see enough of the last picture to even attempt a translation, probably best to turn the camera's flash off when taking pictures of backlit LCD screens.

see i have no idea with katakana, i just assumed anything associated with jar jar binks was nonsense haha... all i do it take each character if in kanji and put it through a multi radical search engine and find it, then look it up through different translators and then look them up together. like i said, it takes forever...

I use a similar process for Kanji that I do not recognise (which is most of them!), and then looking them up in a dictionary (as the online translators are quite inconsistent). This coupled with a basic understanding of Japanese grammar rules and sentence structure, I can usually work out a rough translation.

Again it is very time consuming, but with lots of practise you start to recognise certain Kanji and every now and then you come across a sentence that you can read enough of it to understand it's meaning without having to revert to the dictionaries.

I'd really recommend learning the Katakana character set, as most of the time it is used it is a simple phonetic spelling of English words, and can quickly give you an idea on whether a particular sentence or paragraph is relevant to what you're searching for.

The Hiragana character set is less useful to a non Japanese speaker, as it only gives you the pronounciation of the word. The online translation tools can be pretty useless when given a long sentence in Hiragana. I often end up searching for it along with some of it spelled out in Romanji (Japanese pronounciation spelled out in Roman characters) and hope I find an online phrase book type page offering a translation. This is made more difficult by not always knowing where one word ends and the next one starts, as the Japanese language does not insert a space between words.

hmm sounds like i'll be hitting google pretty hard to learn all of that, any suggestions on where to start to learn the katakana character set? or a good source for any of that stuff? i've been using jim breen's website, jishop, and tangorin all at once for the deciphering... it's really not that much fun :-p

I used a flashcard type game called Kanatest as it was listed in the Package Manager for the version of Linux I use on my PCs. I guess there should be similar games for Windows PCs or similar web based games, but I haven't put any effort into looking for any of these.

My favourite dictionary site is Denshi Jisho it uses Jim Breen's dictionary along with a few other sources of information. Especially useful is the Find Kanji by Radicals search, where you click on the various radicals that make up the Kanji character you are searching for until it narrows the search down to the one you are looking for.

Sorry for the slow reply but I only got here a few days ago!Let's see if The first one:
Bottom part is gibberish that will probably change when you hit the chance button. In the top part is the katakana for Coruscant (spell?) as was mentioned.

    The second one:
Basically it says Everyone! Where did they go?

The third one is hard to read but my wife could make out something about big dislike so I'm guessing it's something about Jar Jar disliking Emporer Palpatine by what's in the picture.

Sorry - I only just saw this one too!

Actually, that katakana is very close to Call Centre (コールセンター)
and says phonetically.. 'Core' 'Sento' so can you make sense from that perhaps? Katakana can be quite a science to translate, as it's so specific to the text. In this case, being science fiction, it could be anything! We'd need to play the whole storyline to be absolutely sure. But I'm going to guess something along the lines of Core Center/(command post)?

    Hope that helps.
There is always another machine around the corner...
