Perhaps I am going to be the wet blanket here... I think a map would be fun just to see the scope of our membership and would be useful in planning pachi-meets and such, but I am not sure I am in favor of putting up a map for the purpose of soliciting help in picking up machines for others and so forth.

This site has a great many members willing to help out others if possible, I have been one of them in the past, but I'm not so sure how I would feel about getting a PM from someone I didn't really know and being asked to pick up a machine and ship it.

I still think the best way to handle that situation is just how this was done... post your situation and see if anyone steps forward to help. If no one is able to assist, then you need to find another way. Just my humble opinion.

My thoughts too, but I think Lt Teddy's intention is that those willing to do so would say so, not just contacting others willy nilly. Kinda like the 'those willing to do repair work' thread.

And dry out that blanket!

I am sorry..having reread the thread, I see that the intention was not to have a map to solicit assistance, just to have people willing to assist, make a note of it.

Having said that... I still stand behind my thoughts in general and I think the original post was the way to seek help. If I lived in Arizona... it would have gotten my attention.
