Back looks very similar to my Maruhon.

OMG the bid is now at $103 will have to go to the boss now for approval. Is this too much for a vintage?

    hi sigma. WELCOME to pachitalk.

if you're new to vintage pachi's, I would think that over $100 is too much for this machine. it's beyond my limit, and I already have 20 plus machines in my garage.

maybe the mermaid theme is what is driving the price up on this one?

only reason I mentioned this one is b/c the brand is not one that I had seen before.

we see lots of nishijin's and sanyo's, some maruhon's, daiichi's and sankyo's, occasional kyoraku and hotoku

as you collect them, you will be able to spot the type from a picture of the back of the machine. the mechanism on this machine does look a lot like the maruhon one, and it may be... seems the vintage manufacturer shared a lot of parts, both on the back and on the front.

you might want to check your local craigslist (use searchtempest to search a radius around you). at the beginning of my obsession, I paid $75 for a single shot. later in my collecting, I found a set of nice vintages for $20 each. I see nice vintages for under $50 all the time in my area.

consider if there are balls, too, in the deal. they cost between 4 and 10 cents each, once you ship them, and you need about 300 for a vintage machine, so that's worth $15-25, too.

if you have a multi-shot, you might want a single shot next. these were a decade or two older, and are fun to play.

once you get one nishijin, the B type are most easily found, then you may want to find a type A and type C.

vintage pachinko has a lot of info and pictures with ages of the machines. here at pachitalk there are lots of pic's in the vintage section and in user's albums. (sharmoni has a nice collection spanning 1940's to electric flippers).

if you really want one and don't find one local, I could send you one, shipped, for $50 to a new pachitalker.

good luck. pachi's are very addicting, the more you have, the more you want!

Thanks Mudfud for the offer. I'll think about it.

I was interested in this one cause I have not seen many of this model for sale.

ultimately, it's what it's worth to you.

you already have a good eye if you noticed that this was an unusual brand, and someone else must have noticed, too, if the price is that high.
