Slot odds are calcluted over time if you put in a certain number of tokens then you will get a certain % back. So if you set your machine at 97% then over time you should get 97 tokens back for every 100 you put in. It won't work out that way on 100 tokens all the time but say over 10,000 or 100,000 it should come pretty close. In casinos you would set the odds higher to attract more players and lower to get more profit. In a home envoirment you can set it however you want to make the play enjoyable for you and your guests. Many vegas casinos will advertise their odds to get players in the door, such as 97% odds on slots but the key is the odds are calculated over time and not on an individual play of the machine. For example the first 10 players putting in 100 plays may not get anything back the 11th player could put in 31 tokens and get 1000 back the the payout would be 97%.

for the most part if you set it on 6 the highest payout you ll see more big payouts and hardly ever see the small pay outs (i.e.the cherries) set it on 1 and you'll see the gambit of different combination's and long spells between large bonus rounds . most people set at around 3 or 4 that gives a good combination of payouts and decent odds of winning no one likes a stingy machine .

Thanks for all the awesome input!

On my Pachislo, Level 2 is 97% and Level 3 starts 100% (the players odds keep going up from Level 3-6 then correct?)

At Level 3-6 (on my Pachie) the "casino" always looses then correct?
Would Level 2 be too stingy and no fun?

Thanx again, I think I am starting to catch on finally.

One of the things to keep in mind here is the 'buy back' process. In 'normal' casinos, if you buy 100 tokens for $100 and then return with 200 tokens you will get $200. However, with pachinko parlours (and I'm assuming Pachislo's as well) the buy back rate is just over half of the purchase.

You buy 100 balls (tokens) for $100.
You sell back 175 balls (tokens) for $100.

Thus the house can have machines set for higher pay offs but 'gets even' at the cashier booth. Players get the feeling of winning and don't get that losing feeling until they are cashing in to leave.

Just my ramblings and I may be totally wrong in this.

Balls rent for 4, redeem for 2.5 (or more, depends on the parlor), tokens rent for 20, redeem for around 15.

So in pachinko you get 250 for your 1000Y, to get that back you need 400
In pachislo, you get 50 tokens for 1000Y and you need 67 to get it back.

So as soon as you 'rent' em, you house has already made money. They can't put 3-400 $2500 machines in a parlor (some move out in months) if they ain't makin money!
