    Default Sound problem!

OK, so I'm hoping I'm posting this in the correct place. Compirate told me to post some of the pics of what I'm having problems with, and will hopefully get this right. I"Ve LIKELY gone overboard on the pics, and appologize ahead of time. When I plug the unit in, I *DO* get a beep (if there is an error of any sort) but the two speakers in teh top of the frame are silent. And no music comes from the error speaker. I've also shown the top of my ball tray in hopes he might have an idea what the heck these butons ACTUALLy do. The very LAST picture, is what looks like some kind of interface cable with nothing attached??

Your third pic is the volume control. Check connectors down there to make sure they're all connected. Follow the wires and make sure they're all connected.

The 'speaker' connections in your 4th pic are actually battle counter connections (do a search here for that, lots of info).

The buttons on the shooter tray are for if a card reader is installed - at the parlor you would buy a pre-paid card, insert it in the card reader next to the machine and your credits would show up on the display on the shooter tray. Pushing one of the buttons causes the machine to 'loan' you 25 balls and take one credit. One of the other buttons was to eject the card from the loaner and I'm not sure what the 'On' button is for.

The last pic is the 'dongle'. It fools the machine into thinking a card reader is present. The Enhanced Dongle sold by Daverob, a member here, emulates the card reader so the buttons and display work as if in the parlor.

Ok,so that part was fairly simple. Everthing IS indeed connected, even opened up one of the speak panels to make SURE it really was. Everything LOOKS good from what I can see. Is it likely somethings just dead? Everthing else seems to work great, the game pays out after enough time, and looks like it'd be quite entertaining! heh

I still think something is disconnected or the connection is bad (dirty, bent pin, corroded). It is possible some electronic part is bad, but unless you can find something that looks burned, these things are made to last a long time.

almost all the problems I've ever had were poor connections

some connections had to be unplugged and plugged in more than once before i got things working

Thanks gents! I'll get to work plugging, unplugging etc. I dont see any signs of corrosion in the machine, other then the one rusted ball that was stuck. The couple I got this from said they'd only had it for about six months. I'll post back tmrw sometime once I get the next part of my task done! hehe Having fun exploring this bad boy! heh

The last craigs-list machine I got must have been too loud for the owner. He had unplugged both of the front speakers.
Simple remedy, I plugged them back in. The modular connectors at the speakers were disconnected.

    Exclamation Re: Sound problem!

OI! What've I started?? I GOT the sound working, now I cant get my other half to step away so I can play on MY toy! Haha Many thanks guys, apparently it was simply a loose connection someplace. I also found one connector that wasnt connected, so not sure WHICH part fixed my problem. Now I'm looking forward to some playtime! haha
