mega transformer for moderns

I bought this track lighting transformer. 600 watts, 24 vac output. I plan to source all 3 moderns off this one (could prob go 5 machines). just wired it up and it works fine with jaws and kagetsu palot on it. price was cheap at $25 plus $10 for ship. the new price on these transformers is at least a couple hundred

seller still has one, but ask that they over box it. they shipped to me in the box in the picture, and because of the weight (24 pounds), the corners of the transformer dented through the cardboard.

I was thinking about doing something like this. Has anyone measured how much current modern machines take at idle? Reason being, I'd like to calculate how much power it'd take to have at least 6 of my machines ON, but only playing one machine.

could you plug the machine into one of those kill-a-watts and see the drain? both idling and playing?

I could plug my star wars in and try it tomorrow, if you want.
