Smile Pinball 2000 - Part Deux - RFM!!

As mentioned in another Thread, we had been desperately seeking a Revenge from Mars Pinball, had followed many leads and still couldn't obtain one, so purchased the SWE1 in the meantime

Well one of those original 'leads' came through in the end when a RFM that was thought to be sold was re-offered to us
So yesterday I despatched the Wookie and the Ewok on a quest to bring a martian invasion to Hornsea!!

This time we used one of the Company vans as squeezing the last one into the Honda was a bit scary...

We knew this one wasn't 'mint' especially cabinet wise but that the Playfield was excellent and the artwork all intact, this one is screen printed onto the cabinet same as the SWE1 version and this seems to be more durable

Unfortunately we didn't get chance to start taking pics until after the bottom Cabinet had been 'touched up' to a couple of areas inside and out using the Dulux black paint we used on the SWE1

We decided to borrow another neighbour to lift the heavy topbox onto the cabinet so we could power it up and see if everything was working after it's dismantling and van journey, and YES!! powered up, lights, monitor, everything as it should be!!

The Pinball 2000 have a start up check proceedure (as well as a comprehensive diagnostics system should need be) but it showed no errors whatsover on start up So we spent the rest of last night playing...errrr...testing...

First Pic shows the side of the cabinet, the lower side having been cleaned and little bits to edges touched in to a couple of area, very little needed really

Second Pic shows the top cab that has yet to be refurbed, this top cab needs a lot of attention to the side edges but the artwork again is good

Mostly this Pinball just needs a little TLC in the cosmetic dept

    Congrats ! ! ! My Dear.

For more room you could always add a 20 X 20 Tent onto the side of the House and make that your Bed Room.

The old Bed Room could make a Great Game Room to put more TOYS ! ! !

In time you won't even notice the imperfections, the game play and field are what matters most!! Enjoy!

Congratulations! Welcome to the RFM club.

You'll have lots of fun 'testing' this game, but don't let the SWE1 get too lonely.

No SWE1 won't get lonely, they are side by side and will get equal attention I'm sure

I realise the gameplay is different on both and the RFM seems to have more 'rules' to learn

So just enjoying playing and learning as we go along...

and as for Docs suggestion that we could squeeze in some more pins...
Well I would need to get rid of the drinks cabinet and the dining room table and chairs...

Nice touch by the way ... color coordinating the pins molding with your wall color.

Drinks cabinet !!! pah drinks belong in one of 2 places fridge or hand so no need for that table and chairs you got this all wrong pintables with chairs next to them for comfortuble playing if desperatly needed for formal sit down meal fold back box add table cloth you sorted...alternative for formal meal use local restraunt and return guests for playing pinball they will apriciate it

been a while since I updated this thread...

Guess what, a little package turned up today from the USA, after I paid the fee that Customs were demanding...

It was the long awaited Bill Ung Saucer Mod Kit!!

Hopefully it won't be too difficult to install, judging by Bill's excellent instructions and Website...

It's a great Mod and relatively easy to install.

I purchased new Saucers before modding mine and found that the kit's LEDs were too much of a loose fit into the holes. A quick application of the glue gun fixed that problem.

I get soooooooo excited when I work on my pins. I love when something new comes in, and I think I enjoy fixing, cleaning, tinkering, and fiddling with them almost as much as playing with them.

Have FUN and send snaps if you take 'em

Whoops, Just realised I had forgotten to post after the Mod was installed!! Well I am pleased to report that the Bill Ung Saucer Kit was straight forward to install,

We did buy extra plastic Saucers, so we could remove the originals, which we stored safely away

As mentioned by Dishpan, the leds were a bit loose to fit firmly into the holes in the new saucers, so we too used a glue gun to secure them

Once all the cables were installed, we booted up the RFM and everything worked first time. I can't recommend this kit highly enough, the quality of the parts and the ease of installation and the way it adds to the atmosphere of the whole game, it's fantastic!!

I only had chance to take a very short video or two or the lights in action, and here are the links, but I will try to take better videos sometime, if anyone is interested

    Congrats on the RFM Hanabi!
I too took the plunge into the Pin2k world and got myself a
RFM and I love it. I might do that modification to the saucers,
    it sure looks awesome enough!
    Again, Congrats Hanabi.
