Default Looking for advice on a purchase

    Hello all.

I believe this is my first "modern" pachinko post. I have a number of vintage pachis, but my most "modern" machine is a Nishijin C.

I have been presented with an opportunity to buy 4 modern machines for $100. The biggest problem to me making this purchase is that I will have to make about a 350 mile round trip to pick them up.

According to the seller, "they are not in good working order, but they light up, balls go up,but all "bells and whistles "do not seem to be working". If I buy all four, all of the balls come with them (looks like 1,000 balls...maybe as much as 1,500)...also, per one of the pics, it looks like one has some sort of ball lifter.

I will freely admit that I know nothing about the electronics of the modern machines...given what you guys see in the pictures, is this a worthwhile endeavor (keeping in mind the 350 mile roundtrip)?

If anyone needs to see the backs of the other machines, I can provide them...the only ball lifter is on the one as shown.

    I appreciate your comments.

I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?

If not for the pachinkos, I would do the trip for the ball lifter!

Based on what you see, what kind of retail value is that worth? I know nothing about ball lifters...

I'm still new to this forum and pachinkos in general, so I don't know what these machines are worth - (I own 5 machines since three weeks), but ball lifters are uncommen, and are going to become rare in the future, because they are not being produced anymore, and people like you and me are hunting the last remaining devices. So.. the ball lifter PLUS 4 pachinkos for 100 bucks sounds like a good deal to me.

Btw: someone wants to sell his ball lifter to me? Anyone?

    Good deal?

    Absolutely.

The ball lifter alone is worth it because you can use it on anything. As for the machines... it looks like two are hanemono (wing type) and those are always fun for me at least.

And one is the Neo Powerful series... (or whatever Sankyo calls it) which is usually entertaining. Though I have little experience with pre-2003 machines.

    EDIT:

I dream of setting up a mini-palour like setup in a sound-proof basement one day. With Dawn of the Fantasy, Go! Go! Hiromi, the lastest Eva Series... *trails off*

BB: yes, where is the deal located? Have you still one unit left to sell? I'm running out of budget, but I think a ball-lifter is a must have - so?

    All...

I've contacted the seller, and I'm probably going to make the drive and pick them up tomorrow. I'll let you guys know if I plan to sell the lifter.

Thanks for all of your responses...it made my decision much, much easier!

Looks like a great deal! My experience with modern machines is... none, and I'd make the drive to do close a deal like that. I'm sure others with experience can and will help with the intimidating electronic stuff.
So let me help the others in twisting your arm a little more - Go for it!

So... good luck, drive safe and post pictures for all the eagerly awaiting masses when you get home.

I saw the ad, and it's a good deal for the balls and lifter alone! Wayyyyy to far for me to drive, but if I were you, I'd be all over it. (No, I won't tell the location, so don't even think about it!) Let us know how it goes!
    Gotta catch 'em all Pa-chink-o

That's unbelievable, what a coincidence to find a ball lifter just in this moment for 4000Yen ... feel's like heaven!

Something tells me I'm gonna have a real big problem, real fast. I just caught myself figuring out what the costs on container shipping are. I wonder what provisions they may make in japan or If I could get a favor from my friends in Hawaii that import regularly?

I'll have to check what groups in Hong Kong may import these from Japan.

    Ooh no...
