Talking Highly requested Circut racer info

    ok hears the scoop guys

decided to get two transformers at the shack last night

came home last night and soldered wires for the Arepachi (it went to the shop for some reverse engineering.. but thats another story

the one u all wana hear about is the Circuit Racer

the solenoid is for the giant tire in the center jackpot..

I think i would have to say this is the first vintage that has a "Fever" round???

when u drop a ball into the center top pocket "yellow" the tire flips wide open to the point it almost hits the spinners.. then every ball that lands in the tire lights up the lights on the back drop of the tire .. kinda like a race around the little track (kinda hard to see in the pic with the tire closed)

now any balls that drop top dead center in the top jack pot closes the tire (to the let or right continues the "Fever").. also if a ball passes threw the two green "check points" that closes the tire as well..

The rest of the machine operates as usual machines do

    does that make sense???

    any questions?? comments?

bb nashijin circuit racer front close.jpg

Ps i know i have said this before but hear it is again

had i not joined this site last month i would have not had the knowledge to fix this thanks to u all

Is the 'bonus' round a certain number of balls or until you close it yourself?

No you may not! That name is reserved for machines with that big bonus door at the bottom, and made by Sankyo! They coined the term and made the first one in 1980. They're the only ones allowed to use the term in the title of the machine (I think it's registered).

Your machine is a very close second though! Very slick!(I had to use it, there isn't a 2nd place smiley)

thay had to see if a simple transformer or if is needed something to convert it to dc.. something aobut the cirtuit board only needing (5 volts or was it amps??) less power.. but it had to be dc.. his first thoughts were i would need a converter but the circuit board had it built in i guess??

hate to sound stupid but i knew i was in way over my own head... where is the smiley blowing his brains out (sid hides the good ones)

as for the scooped power shooter yes its up and running check out the thread u started for more info

Trust me when I say I have no "Ability" what so ever.. it is 100% blind azz luck.. being patient and looking every where I go

like I have said some of my machines I have had for over 20 years...

the circuit racer would still be undiscovered on my shelf had I not been motivated to take pics

u guys with the powerflash machines are the lucky ones I would love to get one of those

i always thought the circuit racer was cool and now especially with the "new" feature.
on another note and speaking of arepachis-what transformer powers your Jan Ball(s) or what I mean is, what are the output voltages?. I found a jan ball this morning but it's missing the power supply and I don't want to fry anything. I know on my arepachis it's seems each one has different specs and I'm also trying to build a database of info on these. especially since the specs get worn off with time on the transformers themselves. thanks much.

Thanks. I was heading back to town this morning and I almost cause a traffic pile up as I drove past a yard sale and saw it sitting in their driveway. I slammed on the brakes, realized I couldn't turn around, told my girl to shut up and hang on, and we made the block. It was also starting to rain and it was just sitting there! Coincidentally this is the 2nd JBall I've seen in a two week period for sale locally (sorta locally) but I missed out on the first one that also needed a power supply but the cell was peeling so badly on that one that i couldn't make out the design.
Anyway, I asked permission to open it up at which point the owner filled me on on how it works. It is missing it's transformer(s) so I acted ignorant to see what all he knew about it. He accurately described the game play fully and said it was working fine until about 5 yrs. ago when his son decided to refurb it cosmetically. Well that never happened but what did happen is that he removed the power supply. Still very worth it for 25 bucks. I delayed my trip home a little and hooked up a 14V transformer that at one time powered some appliance. The lights were dim but it came on. I had no pachinko balls so I used lengths of aluminum wire to trip the micro switch ball pockets. I checked all the different ways to win and everything worked and surprisingly no burnt bulbs. But when time for payout there was just a slight click for each token that shoulda been paid. I figure that has to do with the incorrect power supply since the payout solenoid has "24V" on it. I didn't want to press my luck anymore so I thought it best to consult the electrical gurus here hence my question about transformers on Jan Balls. I know the transformer input obviously and one of the outputs is at least 24V but I don't know how many other circuits there are total and what their voltages/amps are.
It's at my parent's house right now as it wouldn't fit in the car with all the other stuff and I wasn't about to put it on the roof for a 3 hour ride home. I won't be able to get to this one for awhile due to work and some vacation time. It's the same type as was recently on YJA and that Compirate just put in his album. After looking at the pics here the only difference is that the plastics are a different color. So I'm all ears if anyone has any electrical knowledge and any info on how you can determine what voltage a certain circuit needs to be!! Thanks.

if the has an auxilary transformer burried in there then your guess is as good as mine.. both of my Janball machines work perfict with the transformer posted in the Arepachi group.. the reason i bought that one is the reg 24 volt one from radioshack did not have enought amps to kick the tokens out.. exactly what you described...

huge Congrats on your newest find... please post pics when ya have them and time..

PS the bulbs posted there as well should be exactly what your looking for as well.. that im sure of

Thanks. There's two sets of red and white wires of the same gauge. Both of these sets have been cut and are hanging free. Both of the white ones go to the on/off switch and I can't remember where the red ones went. Anyway, one of these pair is where I hooked power to so I'm not sure what the other pair are for. Also there is a hookup underneath the coin dispenser solenoid same as the one in your pic. Hanging off of the left screw is a short piece of solid core wire...
