    Default Cleaning Plastic Parts.

I just got through doing the old #00 Steel Wool on the chrome, and now the plastic is looking kinda dirty.

What should i be using to clean the plastic Ball Trays on the front of my Nishijin?
I am not too comfortable using dish soap, because even when dry, the film is hard to remove. Wouldnt want to get that stuck in the tracks.

How does a little ammonia and water sound? Maybe some windex?

    Thanks!

windex should be good, spray it on a rag or paper towel, and not directly on the machine

windex or 409 works for me. I believe there are some plastic polishes that you can use to make it shine better, too, but I haven't tried yet... brillianeze?

Eddie was the one who posted about this.

I used motorcycle polish/cleaner, too, in an aerosol can from honda, that's good for plastic or chrome.

seems like there's always more to do on our pachinkos. i'm putting the little doors on the cabinets and thinking about making parts for the comet II in salinas.

When I refurbish a pachinko machine, it means I completely disassemble and wash every plastic part by hand in normal soapy water using Dawn dish soap. All the parts made out of plastic are then cleaned a second time with Novus 1, 2 and 3. I clean the face of the machine using a Pica cell cleaner.

I use GelGloss polish on all plastic parts (available at Home Depot - marble & tile cleaners section). It's cheap, cleans well and leaves no residue. The plastic looks like new after I am done.

I will usually use a spay cleaner on the parts to get the gunk off. Most of the time I use Awsome (available at the dollar stores here in LA) then I will clean them with warm soap and water and finish them off with Gel Gloss. I use Novus on the clear plastic parts if they have small scratches that need cleaned up, start with 3, then 2 and finally 1.
Brasso on the nails and finish it all up with the Cell Pica cleaner on the playfield.
Gel Gloss is fairly inexpensive and puts a nice finish on the plastic parts

I place the separated plastic parts into a tub of water with simple green and let sit over night
In the morning just rinse with clean water and wipe down with paper towels.
Whatever tar ,dirt or stains that remain get sprayed with Windex then wiped down again.
During the Windex step you may have to use Qtips to get into certain areas Corners,Behind screw posts, Between lettering etc.

Then use Novus 2 for the fine scratches and final cleaning using soft cloths.

Finally polish using Brillianeze and again soft cloths.

Then take pics of your beautiful shiny parts!

I purchased a set of the 1, 2 + 3 Novus, I have to same I'm far from impressed. I have an arcade machine that's primarily plastic, and this crap wouldn't even take out fine scratches.
Yes, I used it as instructed and used the towels they come with. Novus Polish is overpriced CRAP.

I had a plastic piece with a 1/4 inch wide by 3 inch long scratch in it. Started with 3 ans workd down to 1, it took a lot of rubbing but you can't even notice it had a scratch now.
