I can get most of it, but it needs to be a little sharper for some of the more complicated characters. I'm pretty sure that first line with the 16 in it refers to the number of balls.

it seems that both Eddie and sharmoi agree that there should be a transformer of some kind.. (that makes sense to me since all the other pachinko's i have seen are D.C.) the questions is what size.. and where to locate one?

i do have a much newer machine made by TOYOMARU co. would the transformer from that work? (it has no marking on it for size or output)

i tried a simple 9 volt but nothing happened..

again thanks to all who can help

I'm using a step-down converter (PowerBright VC-100J) to keep the house current from overloading the transformer, but as Eddie says that may not be necessary, depending on the you house current voltage.
sharmoni - which outputs are in use on your arepachi? there should be 2 wires attached for every voltage in use. if there is a solenoid, like powerflash, it needs the 25 volts.

if you think that the machine needs DC input to the boards (which would make sense since I see integrated circuit chips), then you need more than just a transformer, since this will just change the AC voltage up or down depending on the number of windings on each side, but not convert it to DC... it's still a sine wave, just smaller or bigger.

my power flash has a two voltage output transformer. 110 vac input and 24 vac and 10 vac out.

if there is a ac/dc rectifier circuit built into the board, which might be the 4 diodes and the big capacitor on the lower right of the main circuit board, then the machine itself converts your input AC voltage to DC. (the 4 diodes work together to flip half of the sine waves over to make all positive humps. then the capacitor smooths out the humps to make a flatter line, or DC)

also, I just found out that one can use either DC or AC through lamp bulbs. I did some reading about this, even Edison didn't believe it for years. so the powerflash 10 vac is fine or a 9 vdc is fine, too, for the bulb circuits.

    hope that helps

I'm pretty ignorant about electronics. I've been lucky that the most complicated thing I've had to do so far is replace the missing solenoid and transformer on my Power Flash; which I did without blowing it up. I bought a used 24vac transformer (which also had a 36vac output that I ignored) with a 120 vac input from the same online dealer that had the solenoid (Heavy Duty Solenoid, Item Number: G15805 from The Electronic Goldmine).

My Taiyo Electron arepachi came with it's original transformer (photos attached). The power line runs through a fuse box and then into the transformer which is 100v input and 25v 12v and 9v output. I don't know if that is AC or not. The arepachi has two solenoids (ball release and coin release), a bunch of circuit boards, two LEDs, and lots of tiny incandescent bulbs. Hope this helps.

the 3 outputs from the transformer are AC, and it looks like there are 6 wires coming from that side of the transformer, so your machine is sourced with 3 different voltages.

I would guess that 25v goes to operate solenoids and either 12v or 9v, or both, go to the circuit boards. good thing you didn't have to figure out which one went to where.

does any one out there have a arepechi that is the same age as mine??

the good thing about mine is the wires appear to be original.. It looks like some one just removed the transformer.. if i could get one of a similar model and age all i would need is volt readings??? right???

i think were all getting close but all it will take is a little luck...

another question??? is my case that unusual?? or do u all find machines that are complete and only need a good cleaning??

another question is ball size.. the 23 balls that were in the machine are smaller then a reg pachinko ball .3135 inch or 7.97 mm (on my calipers) with no marking's what so ever and i measure a std pachinko ball at .432 inch or 10.98 mm.

im guessing the small balls are wrong but as i have stated i have not seen a machine like this before

thanks again to all of u

Any X's are characters I can't see clearly enough or can't find. I'm pretty much just good at the IME thing in windows, use software translations, which don't always (mostly never ) make sense. It does make it easier for people like Daverob to do translations with it as text instead of graphics, so here you go Daverob, when you have time!

ok lets see does this makes sense

there are 3 red wires 2 go to the on off switch... from the on off switch it runs into the main loom and appears to run to the main circuit board.. the 3rd red goes to the "lower block" (don't know what to call it) from the lower block to the coin opp cylnoid.

2 blue wires to the same side of the inline fuse threw the fuse to black and white wires. white wire to the mail loom and appears to also go to the main circuit board (different location)black wire heads back to the other side of the lower block.. where the black wire hits the lower block there is a short section of bare wire 2 inches long

well just wanted to put an end on this thread

i got the machine back and the guy that was helping me gave a great start but what solved all my problems was the acquisution of my 2nd Jan Ball Arepachi

after wiring in a larger 24 volt 4 amp transformer and swaping out 20 or so broken and burnt out lights its working and palying great..

with more help then i could have ever imagened from this fine site it was a long labor

    thanks to all

need to play it for a few more rounds and figure out what all the little options are.. the two jan ball machines look allot alike but really play differently
