    Default Considering a Maruhon

I'm considering purchasing this Maruhon for $75 and am curious if anyone recognizes it? There is no picture of the rear. The owner said that it currently is not working due to a fuse or fuse box missing? He is unsure. I know this isn't much to go with, but I'm just looking for any advice out there. Anything I chould look for when looking at it? He said it will not turn on. Thanks!

I'd want a clear pic of the back to see if all the control boards are there first if I were you

If it doesn't have a transformer, but does have a plug, he may have plugged it directly into 120VAC, which probably blew a few things.

Thanks Compirate! You always seem to come thru for folks. I'll see what I can get. Any other things I should check for? I've only got a little experience (restoring 1 vintage) at this point.

Like I said, all the boards there and that it hasn't been plugged into the wall (without a transformer). Check any fuses you can find - If it still doesn't work, I'd offer a whole lot less, cause non working, it's basically a very large, decorative door stop

Compirate, do you or anyone out there know how the game plays? Does it have LED slots?

Yes, it looks to be a standard Deji-Pachi with an LED matrix for the reels.

Well, I decided to pick it up and did get it for quite less, as it probably is a doorstop, but it was in fantastic shape. It kind of made you cry due to the missing stuff. I included the back side with closeups of the center and center low. He had a cover he found, but nothing else. The fuse in the upper left near the power cord (?) was intact. What do you guys think? Anyone out there with a similar machine? Anyone with parts? I would love to save this machine.

I see a lot of plugs missing sockets and a few sockets missing plugs. One thing I've found about most modern electronic machines is that no two plugs are alike - either by number of pins, plug type or color. In older machines, the connections are labeled. I see at least 3 major connections missing - the white 9 and 2 pin plug on the lower left, the 20 pin just below the center and the unknown number of pins plug to the left of the center board. I don't know, but I think the control board is missing (only with rear covers).
The last picture is the cover for the battle counter connections in the upper right (the blue one is 'bonus'). Not a good sign that where the fuse would be is blackened. Did it come with a transformer? If not, does it have a plug? They might have plugged it in to 120, killing it.

If those pictures show all you got, I'm sorry to say your missing the control board. I have no idea how to get one, although they show up on YJA every now and then, I'll keep an eye out. The biggest problem is they are game specific. I really feel that the other people sparked it, so not sure if it's worth reserecting anyway. Below are a couple of pictures from my extensive collection (cause that's about all I can afford to collect these days! I knew they'd come in handy some time) that show a couple of Maruhon backs, first is a little older than yours, second is probably closer. Not the same game, but it gives you an idea where things go/should be.

Yup, that's what I figured. Thanks for the pics so that I could see what's missing. Well, at least I have some parts and I can experiment. I also met a really nice guy who sold me the machine, and he was hoping that I could get her up and running. I'll have to email him this site and hopefully he can get turned on to pachinkos also. Thanks for all your work Compirate!
