    Banana,

After looking at the pictures, I am curious as to how "well" the idea of cutting the nails actually worked for the prior owner. It seems to me that the nails (when properly in place) slow the ball and allow it to "drop" into the tulip. Likewise, it seems that without the nails, the speed of the balls would be greater and might serve as a negative when the tulip is closed. Obviously, when the tulip is open, you would seem to be guaranteed a win if the ball gets anywhere close, but I'm not so sure that it would really be that much of an advantage when the tulip is closed.

What was your experience???again, I 'm just curious.
I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?

By replacing them, they actually made a huge difference. Before, I would start with 20 balls and end up emptying the machine of balls in no time. Seriously, I would hit a win about every 5th ball. It actually got boring (gasp!) That spurred me on to try to repair it. Now, it is quite difficult and it has become a real challenge. Much better for me, but harder for the kids (which incidently keeps all of us entertained longer )
