Default New sea story, error code 3

    Hi,
Finally got my additional 1500 balls to add to the 40 that came with the machines, but after entering fever, and running the pay out dry, i poured more balls to the pay out tray, got a few, and it is now stuck in error code 3.
I attach a picture of the back of the machine, to verify we do actually talk of the New sea story...

I wish to learn how I disassemble the pay out system, as my guess is the problem lies here?
I have looked for a manual, but with little success...can you point me in the right direction, please?

    Thanks,
    Henrik

have you tried turning the machine on and off.

does it have a reset button by the on/off switch.

you could try holding this in for about 10 seconds while turning the pachinko on

    this thread may help

    Code # 3

if you can locate the ball dump lever, you could dump all the balls from the channels and reset the dump lever before refilling them

    Thanks again Luckydog.

Trust you speak of the big round white button at the right hand side, about 4" down from the top of the machine in the vertical part of the black plastic ball channel...have activated that, and that did indeed dump the balls...problem remains.

On my LOTR you can disengage the pay out mechanism by pulling/pushing tabs and slide the parts apart.
On this machine, I do not see that possibility...but many more screws...so again, a manual would be very valuable to assist in splitting the machine...

    Thanks for any input!

Hi. Thank's for the PM, but I don't know much about New Sea Story error codes.

I know only error code 1 is ball tray empty. When error code 1 happens, the small shaker motor at the tray will shake couple of times trying to loose some stuck balls if there are any. If you play the game cyclic and don't like the shaker you can disconnect it.

There should be "worm" animation at error screen when everything is ok.

Does the payout motor work when you push small black button below the error display couple of seconds? That should empty the payout motor and letter A is shown at digit display. Otherwise there might be ball stuck in motor. Maybe there is a ball which is not 11mm diameter. Little smaller or bigger than that. There might be dirt inside motor too.

It is not hard to take everything apart if you have decent mechanical skills and tools. The all screws are almost same sized and the parts are easy to take off. Just take lot of pictures if you are not sure which part goes where. There are some small parts inside the motor and channels before motor. Keep them separated and put them at the table same order you took them out.

There is also that classic style bell seen when the motor is taken apart. When the motor is paying balls out, they will drop at that bell. In home use that bell might be little bit disturbing. If you don't like it, you can put some electrical tape there. or something inside the bell to reduce the sound.

The reset button is the big red button at lower left corner of the machine. There's yellow sticker above it. You can hear siren a while when the reset is done correctly. Also all lights are lit same time so you can see if there is any burnt bulbs.

    Thanks Supersaiyan,
4 screws hold the box with pay out motor.
Took it out, removed an other 3 screws that hold the black cover over the ball lane, cleaned dirt out and gave the bearing for the rotating ball divider a drop of oil, connected the electrics and turned the motor manually: Bingo, failure went away.

Got the following translation of error codes from PinballDave:

Error Code '1' - Tank Empty (ie out of balls)
Error Code '2' - Lower tray full (ie paid out balls backing up into
    the payout motor)
Error Code '3' - Payout Motor Fault
Error Code '4' - Inconsistent payout (ie balls counted by payout
verification sensor are not equal to balls that should be paid out
based on the number of revolutions of the payout motor)
Error Code 'U' - Prepaid Card Unit Error (ie dongle is missing or faulty)

So I close this ticket, with thanks to all who read this long.
