Looking to get 1st Pachislot.

Hello, everybody. I'm new to the place but it seems like you guys are cool.

I was overseas for a few years and while I was over there I had the pleasure of playing some of the Pachislot machines and a few Pachinko machines, and now that I'm back I'm thinking of getting one... I don't know if Ebay is a trustworthy way to do it, but the prices seem pretty low considering the things are over 3000 brand new.

If I get one it's going to be the only one I get for quite awhile, so i'm having trouble deciding who's the best supplier. One Ebay user is selling pachislot machines from a 99 cent bid and 50 bucks shipping, but it doesn't tell you what machine you get. It just says 'Titles May Vary.'

One last question - awhile ago there was a Parodius Pachinko machine produced that was very impressive. A playthrough and promo for it was put on Youtube but the user took it down for some reason. Did anyone happen to save that footage before it was taken down? The reach actions were so cool...

Rita from Bluehot seems really nice and I have ordered a machine from them and it was in great condition! Ebay is kinda iffy on what you get.,

But remember the addiction will become stronger after the first taste of a pachislo is in your home. Soon you will be joining the dark side like many of us! 1 becomes many!

If this is to be your first and only one for a while, then you need to check out exactly what it is you want in a Pachi, theme wise, etc

Youtube Videos are good, as is the Research Centre here (opens to you after just a few more posts)

From a vendor's point of view, I suggest the following for first-time pachislo buyers:
(1) Avoid the vendors you can't easily reach by phone. Call vendor before you place an order (ebay or online shop). You will need trouble shooting or asking about operations after getting your machine.
(2) Ask the vendor about the machine you are interested in -- if it is in good condition, if it speaks a lot of Japanese, if it shows some improper graphics for kids, how it is packed, etc... Make sure that the vendor actually has the machine in hand.
(3) Check if the vendor has accessories, such as extra tokens and volume controllers. Also check their prices. Sometimes it is excessively expensive.
(4) Compare the prices with Google or Yahoo, then, call the vendor and negotiate the price.
(5) As for ebay vendors, read their feedback and choose the one with good reviews of their packaging.
(6) Make sure that you want either a factory original or a custom machine. Many custom machines look good, but speak and show irrelevant stuff to the game, such as Japanese language.

Funny you should be here Gaku, because YOUR machine is one of the ones I'm looking at! How convenient.

I do have a few questions about that Metal Slug machine.
1-How much Japanese does it feature? Is it playable with minimal understanding of it?
2-Can you select other Metal Slug characters besides the one photographed?
3-are there any extra controls besides the three slot-stoppers?

IMHO, You can't go wrong with Gaku, he is a top notch seller.
I have bought 2 machines from him and both were like they were brand new.
Stay away from the "Titles may vary" ads, that is not to say they are bad sellers, but they will just send you any old machine that the drop shipper has 500 of.
Pick a machine by the theme or color or whatever it is that you like and you can also do a search on here for machines that other members like or think highly of and go from there.

I agree with Ray on this. not only does Gaku have a great reputation, many of the dealers you see around here get their machines and parts from him for resale. being the first Ebay customer of Gaku i can say he has been great from the very first! and he has been around long before then.
