Onimusha strange error?

Hi to you all,
A friend of mine talked to me on the phone this evening and told me he bought a Onimusha pachislo, it works fine when you stop de reelbuttons from left to right , but if you stop them from right to left it keeps on repeating the same symbols over and over and again.. weird eh? does anyone have clue if this is a error and if so how to solve this problem?

playing right to left i get replay, replay, bell most of the time, so I would say its common.

they are setup to play left to right,

I'm sure people spending real cash in palours would figure that out real fast.
