It has some pachinko "styling" up at the top between the 2 large LED. There's even a ball sitting in there. But so far I've not seen it make any movements. It just lights up. Doesn't even look like the "flippers" can move. They look like one solid molded piece.

So I'd say it's a bit of an overstatement to say it has pachinko action.

I take it back. Looking in through the maze of wire, circuit boards, and plastic boxes, it looks like there is a solenoid in there. So there must be some action that takes place. Either mine is broken, or I just haven't played it enough to get into the right bonus mode.

If anyone else gets one, please post if or when you get that ball to jump.

But there is one thing in PP's listing that a do have to question. He says "only 1600 made." Mine is serial number 3790.

they have a lot of misleading info in their auctions, that seem like its intended to get a higher price.

Looking at the sticker above the stop buttons, it looks like the cherry symbols have something to do with the pachinko feature. But there's no graphic that describes where it has to show up. I haven't seen a cherry symbol on the left reel yet, and I've been trying.

Gary is right, there looks to be a lot of gizmos inside the door that could make the pachinko ball bounce around. There's a camel figure in that area on the front. His head and tail pivot sometimes. They snap down and back up again, but it happens pretty fast.

This machine will get a pretty good workout this weekend, so hopefully there'll be more to report on the pachinko feature. But even if it doesn't do a darn thing, the machine is a lot of fun.

I hadn't noticed that. Maybe that's what the solenoid I saw is for. Now that I know about it, I'll keep an eye out. If that's what the solenoid does, then there is still some question over whether the pachinko ball moves or not.

Keep us posted on anything you see over the weekend.

Just confirmed that there really is some "pachinko action" on the Arra King. It's still a bit much to say that it combines pachislo and pachinko. But, here's what happens:

When you go into "chance" mode the flippers (the parts with the camel head and tail) flip open and the pachinko ball is lifted up into view for a few seconds.

There's so much going on at the same time -- lights flashing, music, strobes, red flame-like lights -- that you'd probably miss the flipper and pachinko ball if you weren't looking for it (like I must have, several times).

I confirm Gary's confirmation. Saw several bonus rounds this weekend and the action that Gary described is what I saw also. I'm not at all disappointed with it, was just eager to see what it might do. Actually there's probably not much it could do with all the plastic surrounding that area. A pachinko ball flying around in there could bust through and knock out yer front teefs.

So, limited pachinko action on this one. No big deal. We're still "honeymooning" with it, so we'll see how much play it's getting after a month or so.

    8-)

Arby--Well your concern for our welfare is certainly appreciated. But I'll probably just keep this thing for a while and risk grievious bodily harm cause that's the kind of guy I am.

Lucky--next time you go fishing in the Keys, feel free to stop over and drop a few tokens.

OK, but if it puts you eye out, "I told you so" :-? That will leave a mark.
