Default Daiichi Machine - needs work

    Hi,

I picked up a Daiichi Pachinko machine a few months back. Haven't had much time to work on it yet. I think there's a spring missing in the back and the balls are jammed (balls are stuck in the win pockets). Other than that it seems to be in decent shape.

Not sure of the name other than the manufacturer, anybody have any info?

Nice vintage project you got there

I'm not sure that most older vintages actually had specific names as such??

Although I have seen lots of different designs and colours,

We have a number of members that enjoy collecting and restoring them,
so this is the best place to find out

Rule Number 1: A digital Camera is your friend
Rule Number 2: See rule 1

These machines are fairly easy to work on, take lots of pictures as you take the machine apart, clean it well and it will last you many more years.

There is probably an obstruction somewhere in the ball path that is causing them to back up. I have found, leaves, bugs, screws, different size plastic and metal spheres, marbles, bolts, nuts, chewing gum, cherios, fruitloops, buckshot and other non-pachinko approved items deep inside machines.

    Best of luck

    that is unsettling..
i know at times being a student can be tough economically but not like this.

i say we all chip in and send you some children cereals that are less then 5 years old and that haven't been crammed into Japanese entertainment machines for the same amount of time..

    It's alive!

Last night got the the lights working. Most of the solder joints had broken free and needed resoldering. The 9V battery trick works nicely. Today I pulled the mechanical apart.

Found the following jammed in the slots:
    - missing screw terminal for the wiring
    - A screw
    - A washer
    - 'plinko' nail (though not from this machine )
    - couple of balls jammed where they shouldn't be
    No cereal, LOL
Needs a bit more cleaning but works well. I noticed the front is plexi-glass and seems to support two pieces. Is this right or should it be glass?

I can see how these things can get addictive, a few bells and extra bearings on a win and you want to play more.

Im really Happy that you got the machine running!

nothing like the sense of accomplishment when you have something that you think is broken, come back to life..

on the other hand i am sad for Banzaii, as there was no old cereal for him..

life can be so unfair at times..

You can use 2 pieces of plexi or two pieces of glass like it had originally...some even use 1 and 1...plexi on the inside to lessen the noise of balls hitting the glass!!

Of course you only need the one on the inside for it to work!!

For machines I keep after fixing I use plexi on the inside and glass on the outside. Helps keep the noise down big time.

Thanks, I figured there was a piece of glass missing. The plexi in the machine is too thin, the balls sometimes bow it out slightly and get stuck between a pin & the plexi. I'll probably change it out to something thicker and put a piece of glass on the front slot.
