    Default hinges for pachinko game

I've seen some cool designs for cabinets but I can't find anywhere a description or info on where to buy hinges for the machine to swing out on. What type hinges, where to buy, etc. My machine will be standing on a shelf against a wall for the background. Now I need to build the frame for the game but I need to see some hinges to figure out how they will fit.

Yeah, you don't need hinges. You mount the frame to the cabinet and use the existing hinges. That is, unless you're frameless as compirate asked. I kind of doubt it.

I was thinking I needed hinges so I could swing the game towards me like a door in order to access the back when needed.

Let me try to clarify. The vintage machine has a frame of course, and hinges on the top left and bottom left built into the frame. But I need some kind of hinge device that would fit into those hinges or I guess I could buy some regular hinges and fasten them onto the frame so I could swing it toward me like a door but they would have to be awfully sturdy.

Umm...maybe a picture of what you have would help. But if you have a frame, and that frame has hinges, and those hinges connect the door to the frame...then all you need to do is mount the frame to your cabinet and swing the door open, leaving the frame in the cabinet.

Im thinking this is what he means,
Maybe... He has a cabinet, and he wants to permanently affix the pachinko to the cabinet, and he wants to put part of a hinge on the cabinet, and another on the pachi.. so he can swing the pachi out of the cabinet.

I know thats exactly what he meant, im wanting to do the same thing, so you can wall mount and swing the whole machine out to get to the back to reload hopper, fix jams, clean, etc. Ive seen pics of this but would like to know a little more detail about how people have gone about it.

build your frame, just large enough to slide the outer frame of the pachinko into it. mount the pachinko outer frame to your newly built frame, cut a hole in the side that allows you to still access the lever that unlocks the machine from the original frame, this allows the "guts" of the machine to swing out of both the original frame and your new case. now you have access to all the guts of the machine, for maintainance and refill..

i have no release from the pachinko to the original frame. The only release i have opens the glass in the front. So i would have to use hinges to mount original machine to new frame. Am I missing something...i do that sometimes?

ooojaya, if you're still in question about hinges, i used 3 brass door hinges, but the only time you have to do it like this is when you have an older machine that doesn't have a built in swing out hinge.

I just built a wall cabinet that I mounted my game onto with a 30" piano hinge & drawer latches. It works perfectly. I can send pix if anyone is interested. I also recommend using a hard wood such as maple or oak becuase there will be a lot of wieght from the machine in a 90 degree position for servicing/maintaining.

As promised, a few pix of my cabinet and hinges. It is a very simple design, I put it together in one night. Still have to fill screw holes and apply a finish to it.
