    Default Pachinko Model Identification

Need help identifying what this machine is. It's a very early Heiwa model that I just got that I'm restoring. Below are a close up picture of the name, and a picture of the whole machine.

Got everything working, just rebuilding the frame since the joints all worked loose in shipping. While it's out of the frame I'm going to take it back apart and clean all of the ball paths.

Interestingly enough, it's got a small color LCD, and the payout system is electromechanical/gravity hybrid.

If it helps, it's a Mah Jongg theme. The slot symbols are Mah Jongg tiles.

Thanks to Pachi-Sloter it's called Mahjongg Story, and it's from 1991.

I completed the restoration of it, which was quite a job. I took apart everything, including the frame, cleaned everything, and put it all back together. Now everything on it works properly.

It has a 16 round fever mode, 3 slot activation pockets, two normal pockets, two pockets that open/close their flippers when a ball enters them, 4 normal spinners, and two lighted spinners.

The pin layout is similar to those of the older machines where there are no long rows of pins, mainly matrices of pins around the pockets that tend to divert balls away from them.

The ball action is good on this one. It's really hard to find a sweet spot when shooting them.

Adoption is a good thing, even with the old folks out there, they too need a loving home

    That's the one!

I liked it since the girl on the playboard reminds me of a character in one of my favorite rpgs.

Had it been packed better it'd been easier. The packing was adequate, but could have been done better. It was packed by Staples, I guess they have a pack and ship center in there, and possibly they'd never had to pack something like that before. It was two boxes, one that slid inside the other, filled with styrofoam peanuts, then taped together. The box took a pretty hard beating in shipping so that's where redoing the frame came in to play. I think it'd have been ok if they had used bands to hold them together. Since the ball tracks inside were pretty dirty, I disassembled everything and cleaned it all, then put it all back together. Nothing about all this was that difficult, just a bit time consuming. Overall, I think it was worth the effort.
